Hump Day Happy Hour: Messina Hof Find

Remember this?  Well, if I had not had gone and almost killed myself falling on my ass off a bridge had the time of my life, I would never have found this gem.

Just the right about of raspberry and perfect amount of bubbly tang.  Der loved it as well, we both snagged a bottle.  Would definitely recommend for a crisp change of pace.

Yo Gabba Crazy Round Here

My son may be only 5 months of age, but you put that child in a bouncer in front of a television blaring Yo Gabba Gabba on Nick Jr. and you will see what true glee looks like. You will also see how it is that I am able to get school work, house work and anything else done while at home with him. His love for this show has got me to etsy searching… etsy searching for FIRST BIRTHDAY PARTY decor, of course! Boy, did I hit the cuteness jackpot!

Der: You say its your birthday!!!

My how time flies.  Just a year ago we were celebrating an amazing friend, wife, sister, daughter and now we can say a very happy birthday to an amazing new mom.  Thanks for always making us laugh till we cry, being there if we need to cry, and partying like the rockstar you are.  Your such a great person and AJ is lucky to call you his mommy. Happy Birthday!!

Shower de Sarah

We thought we’d share a few pics from the baby shower we helped throw for Sarah and her hubby over the weekend.  Sarah and Kynn have decided to not find out if they are having a boy or girl ahead of time so we had to stick with a strictly gender neutral shower.  Dr. Seuss was the answer!  We couldn’t possibly get all the decor in these shots but hoooo boy was it cute!

We had Seuss cookies and cupcakes and Seuss themed flowers and Red Fish and Blue Fish…and the list goes on and on!  Instead of a sign in book, we had everyone sign in on a copy of “Oh, The Places You’ll Go”.  Throughout the house we used Seuss books and stuffed Seuss characters as decor.  We also played two games: Baby Animal Matchathon and Baby Price is Right.  Definitely fun games as they were both a bit challenging.  All in all I think everyone had fun and Sarah and Kynn got a ton of very cute baby stuff.  Congrats to Sarah & Kynn! Can’t wait to meet the new addition!!

Hump Day Happy Hour: Berry Christmas Punch

I consider this the home stretch of planning all the get togethers and meals surrounding the holiday season.  This is sure to be a crowd pleaser, looks its takes a bit of prep, but could really pay off!

  • 1.5 liters Ocean Spray raspberry cranberry, well chilled
  • 2  bottles of sparkling wine, well chilled
  • 1/2 cup Cointreau
  • 2 limes, quartered
  • 1 cup strawberries, washed, halved
  • 3/4 cup blueberries
  • 1/2 cup raspberries
  • 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves

Pour the cranberry juice, sparkling wine and Cointreau into a punch bowl. Use your hands to squeeze some of the juice from the limes into the punch. Stir. Add the squeezed limes to the punch. Add the strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and mint leaves. Dunzo.

Some of the other tipsy gals have really cool pitchers to serve this out of, like the ones shown here, I think it would be a shoe-in to a berry merry Christmas!
