BAM…Organized!

Part of my New Year’s Resolution was to get some closets organized.  I have a crapload of gift wrapping stuff that I needed to get UNDER CONTROL.  I also had a frenzy of scarves trying to conquer the world of my coat closet.  So I’m going to show you below how I accomplished these tasks with some not so obvious tools.

Wrapping Paper was put in a Hanging Laundry Bag.

Tissue Paper and Scarves* were brought under control by Pant Hangers.

Gift Bows, Ribbons, Etc Etc Etc were put in a Hanging Sweater Organizer with Fabric Drawers

*In the Great Scarf Reorganization of 2010 I realized I don’t need to buy ANY.MORE.GREY.SCARVES.  I’ve got it covered.

  1. Do you happen to know of any hanging sweater organizers that go over the door, instead of hanging on the rack? I want to pitch my son’s large dresser completely, but need something to put pants and folded things in….

  2. @Tina hmmm no I’ve never see a sweater organizer that’s over the door, but maybe you could find something that would normally hang on the rod as opposed to velcro and then use over the door hooks to hang the organizer? Does that make sense?

  3. Over the door hooks! Brilliant! Why didn’t I think of that? My son’s closet is a rather big two door closet. The dresser takes up so much space and I’d rather use it for play space and make more use out of the closet. I will look for hooks!

  4. @Tina YEAH!! So glad I could help!!

  5. I LOVE your jewel-toned scarves!!! Please do share where you bought them from!

  6. @Chloe Thank you! Most of those I got from a Christmas market we have in Houston every year where tons of vendors come from all over. Those specifically are from a booth based in McAllen Tx called Palacio de Plata. Here’s the phone # I found for them: 956-630-6435. Worth a shot to call I guess?
