JCrew Dilemma

Dear JCrew,

Why do I love you, and, more importantly,  why do you have to be so expensive!?!?!?!?!

Here are some of my latest loves/envies:

  1. Alice Ruffled Tank
  2. Cotton and chiffon tuxedo ruffle cardigan
  3. Cotton Rosella Dress
  4. Chiffon stripe tier tank
  5. Crystal Corona Necklace
  6. Twisted neon magpie bracelet
  7. Jeweled leather Capri sandals

Comments

  1. Story of my life… maybe one day I’ll be rich enough to shop there. 🙁

Martin & Osa is a good substitute, but they’re going out of business in July. After that, I don’t know what I’m going to do. I have real trouble paying more than $20 for a tank top of any kind.

  2. Seriously…this is a major issue in my life. I have a very love/hate relationship with J.Crew.

  3. I have so much sadness in my heart over J Crew….over the past few years they’ve continued to make the same awesomely adorable clothes, but why would I pay that much (even if I wanted to) for the same things that cost 1/3 or more less just 3 or 4 years ago? (I’m thinking their t-shirts for that example)
    *sigh*

  4. My beef with JCrew, other than the ever-rising prices for bsics, is that some of their stuff doesn’t hold up. A couple of cashmere sweaters look a little ragged and I can assure you that I treat them like they are my babies. Disappointing. I love the places like H&M and Forever 21 and Target come up with affordable knockoffs!

  5. @Haley: I LOVE Martin & Osa as well!

  6. @TIna: Will is make you feel better if I tell you this dilemma exists for my Mom and sister as well??? 🙂

  7. @Amanda: I’ve only been on the JCrew bandwagon for about 2 or 2.5 years now…I was VERY upset to hear you say their prices have only gone up!!!!!!!!!!!! I mean, I’ve heard of inflation, but that’s ridic…

  8. @Christen: True ‘dat about the knockoffs!
