Toy Story Anyone?

So my child wakes up at 6a most days, takes 1 nap that can range anywhere from 15 minutes to 2 hours depending on the day, and the rest of the time? The rest of the time involves running, lots and lots of running and/or thinking the furniture in our house is the Little Gym.  Generally the only time the kiddo will sit still is if I put on Toy Story 1 or 2.  And I’m gonna go ahead and admit it, it’s really nice to sit down for a breather.  So we are very much looking forward to Toy Story 3 coming out and having that be The First Movie Experience.

So with all that said, I have two questions for you:

What is your kiddo’s favorite movie?

And why does Bullseye (horse) not speak when Hamm (pig), Rex (dinosaur), and Slinky (dog) do?

  1. Ak, I knew you were doing this post today, but I didn’t know we were into deep questions about Bullseye.

Me and Aus ALWAYS wanted to know that. I thought it was because the other animals had a role and were funny talking. Whereas Bulleye’s roll was to be loyal to Woody. So really what would Bullseye say if he could. Aus had even more theories that involved conspiracy of sorts…

Heres what wiki said: Bullseye acts like a dog in many ways. Unlike most of the other toys, Bullseye cannot communicate in clear speech but sounds like an actual horse, he uses “body language” to “speak”. According to a character interview that use to be up on the early 90’s Toy Story website, Bullseye communicated with Jessie while in storage by tapping his hooves to yes or no questions

  2. @court he does act like a dog in a lot of ways…but damn even slinky the dog can talk. Bullseye definitely got the shaft. I would definitely like to hear Austin’s conspiracy theories.

  3. My son just recently started watching movies. Cars, Toy Story 2 and Jungle Book are the only ones he’s seen….and Cars is the fav. And this week he has started reciting the movie..not word for word, but the basic plot outline…he tells it to me OVER and OVER alllllll dayyyyy longggg! OMG. Very cute times 1-3….times 100-300….not as cute.

  4. @Danielle that’s toooo funny! We have Cars but he’s not too into it yet. Buzz & Woody are by far the favs around here. Court has recommended Ice Age, we may try that one out next.

  5. My bro (who is 4) LOVES Toy Story and Cars is pretty far up on the list right now too. He saw Shrek in the theater earlier this week (his first “theater” experience) and gave that a good review too.

  6. @Christen excellent to know…we’ve watched parts of Shrek but he hasn’t seemed too interested as of yet. But I’m sure at some point he will be and I’m glad it got a thumbs up!

  7. Oh – maybe I’ll get Ice Age. I hadn’t even thought about that one. I bet it’s a good choice. After I read your post and commenting, B started retelling Cars to me yet again. So I wrote out his account and posted it. Too funny. Maybe I can get a full set of “Disney as told by a 3 year old” soon. Can’t wait to hear how your in theater experince is. We haven’t been brave enough to try that yet!

  8. @Danielle Just read your recap and LOVED IT! Also, my husband said if we go to the theater and he has a meltdown and makes lots of noise, what are people going to do? it’s a kids movie yo

  9. I hadn’t really thought about Bullseye not speaking…

As for my 3-year-old’s favorite movies, Toy Story 1 & 2 are favorites, followed closely by Nemo. Except when the diver shows up – he makes us fast forward through that scene.

I want to take him to see 3 in the theater, but the husband is concerned it might be a bit much. We’ll see… You’re right, though, it’s a kids movie. Plus, they always have the volume up so high in those things, you probably wouldn’t notice anyway!

  10. True….good point. Maybe we will try it when it comes out. Maybe 😉
    and thx for the comment!
