Tipsy Favs: Mascara

Time for a another weigh in.  Mascara.  This is something I hold near and dear to my heart.  Or something I accidentally poke my eye with and ensure the worst.pain.known.to.a.woman.

Here we go….

Sarah:  SpectacuLash® Mascara (Black) I like this mascara because it gives me the long, thick, eyelashes I want, without ever being too clumpy.

Der:  Loreal Voluminous Mascara This is one of the only makeup products that I repeatedly buy. I like plump, black lashes and this is the best drug store mascara that I have found for that affect. Also, the makeup artist that I hired on my wedding day…. showed up with this mascara in her bag of tricks, so it must be good 🙂

AK:  Maybelline Lash Stilleto It’s not goopy and clumpy and it separates my lashes perfectly!  And it actually comes off as opposed to sticking to your lashes for days on end.

Court:  Loreal Telescopic Definition Lengthening I’ve tried almost every new mascara that comes out and I always end up sticking to this.  I love the comb like brush, even though you better learn to use it and learn to use it fast.  Lets just say combing through caked on lashes doesn’t end up with the neatest look.  However, don’t let that scare you gals, once you get the hang of it this mascara never fails to provide clean, defined, long lashes that really pop.

Tipsy Favs: Moisturizers

We are back with another Tipsy Favs Edition!  This week we are tackling moisturizers.  Not surprisingly none of us use the same moisturizer.  Some of us are using one, some of us are using two, some of us are just downright confused.

  1. Der: Clean & Clear Dual Action Moisturizer-I like it because it’s equally moisturizing and zit fighting and cheap too! I’ve used the same facewash and moisturizer for probably 10 years…. if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!
  2. Court: Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion-Very mild so doesn’t break me out with my acne prone complexion.  The face wash is great too.
  3. Sarah: Beauticontrol Skin Logics Clear Oil Control Moisturizer and Beauticontrol SPF Booster 30+-The one on the left is for night-time. I like it because it helps keep my acne-prone skin clear while I sleep.  The one on the right is for day-time. I like it because I have all day SPF protection, but it’s not greasy and doesn’t break me out like other moisturizers w/ sunscreen that I’ve tried.
  4. AK: Neutrogena Oil Free Moisture for Sensitive Skin and Aveeno Positively Ageless Daily Moisturizer SPF 30-I was using a more expensive moisturizer and wanted to go a little cheaper so I am sort of in an experimental phase of cheaper moisturizers right now.  I’m using both of these and am liking both of them.  I like that the Neutrogena one is really light but I like that the Aveeno one is going after that premature aging.

Device to Change your Skins LIFE

My beautiful, ever so youthful, Aunt has introduced all the women in my immediate family to this handy device: The Clarisonic. It all started when my Mother asked her big sister what her skin-care regimen was, (Seriously, my Aunt has the complexion that every woman hopes to have when they’re 50) and out popped this handy device! At first I was skeptical…I mean…it’s $150 and can it really make THAT big of a difference….?

Here’s the proof:

Before you run out and invest your hard earned $$$ in this thing, I would suggest you try one of the cheaper knock-offs, which is what I did.

I fell in LOVE with the way the BeautiControl buffer made my face feel…so fresh, sooooo clean!

A couple weeks ago I was gifted with the ACTUAL Clarisonic and I will testify that I see a HUGE difference in the way my skin feels and looks without make-up. I’m hooked, and will never look back!!!
