Here you go ladies…our two favorite things: Wine + Margs = HEAVEN in a glass!
Hump Day Happy Hour: Rose
Fell in LOVE w/ Pedernales Cellars during my anniversary weekend in “Texas Wine Country”. (Honestly, We liked their wine so much, we joined their wine club!)
The Garnacha Dry Rose was my absolute FAVE! I actually liked it so much that I came home w/ a case of it…
Please don’t be a wine snob and turn your nose up at a Rose…it is soooo yummy…and absolutely worth a try!
Hump Day Happy Hour: Artist Blend
William Chris vinyards is a winery my hubby and I ran across during our yearly anniversary wine tasting outside of Fredricksburg, TX. We bought several bottles and only recently revisted this one…OMGLOVE!!!!
This is a boutique winery, so you can really only buy the wine from their website…totally worth it though…
Hump Day Happy Hour: Slingshot
I ran across this cabernet sauvignon over the weekend and let me tell you: TRY IT! At $23/bottle it’s not going to be your everyday wine, but it’s definitely worth the $$$ every now and then…
Hump Day Happy Hour: Messina Hof Find
Remember this? Well, if I had not had gone and almost killed myself falling on my ass off a bridge had the time of my life, I would never have found this gem.
Just the right about of raspberry and perfect amount of bubbly tang. Der loved it as well, we both snagged a bottle. Would definitely recommend for a crisp change of pace.
Wine Tasting Adventures
So this past weekend Der, Court, and I went to Messina Hof Winery, a Texas winery that happens to be located in the same town as my college. Needless to say, it was quite an adventure.
We started the day tasting wines at the wine bar.
Der was not a fan of any of the red wines we tried.
We the ventured out to the patio where we met a man who showed us how the “winery” dog will eat a cracker from your mouth. Turned out the dog was a stray.
Then we took a walk through the grounds where Court fell off of this bridge. Don’t worry, we made sure she was okay before we laughed.
Der then explained to Court that just because she fell of a bridge, it doesn’t mean her hair looks bad (just so she would take a picture with us). That turned out to be a very true statement.
We ended the day leaning on a tractor. Why, I do not know. But we look good doing it 🙂
Hump Day Happy Hour: La Jota
This wine was purchased by my aunt based off a recommendation from the owner of our local WineStyles, a store/bar for all things wine related. It might be the best red wine I have ever had. When the bottle was empty I was definitely wishing there was another available, although I may have been a little too tipsy to properly enjoy it 🙂 Its a little pricey for an everyday table wine, but it would be perfect for a special occasion or just a splurge.
Hump Day Happy Hour: Middle Sister Wine
I came across these wines recently at my local Target store and they instantly caught my eye. According to the website, these wines are named for the sister who “has a personality of her own and steals the show”. For those of you who don’t know, I am the middle sister in my family so I might be a tad bit biased 🙂 In addition to the cute back-story, each type of wine has its own cute name and story, AND they sell for around $10! Sign me up!
Drama Queen Pinot Grigio
Mischief Maker Cabernet Sauvignon
Smarty Pants Chardonnay
Goodie Two-Shoes Pinot Nior
Hump Day Happy Hour: Super Texan
I blogged about this winery awhile back and thought today was appropriate to revisit it. You see, this is my last blog pre-baby as I should have a bouncing bambino/bambina by tomorrow…YEAH…and this is my BIGGEST craving post baby:
Flat Creek Super Texan; A fabulous red that I compare to a great Cabernet Sauvignon.
So, I have two question for you today:
- What would (was) your first post baby alcoholic drink be?
- What do you think I’m going to have; boy or girl?
Hump Day Happy Hour: My Fav Bubbly
I found it. After searching long and hard and giving every single kind of sparkling wine a fair and equal chance, I found it! My favorite bubbly.
I have not a clue how to pronounce it. But I do know its less that 10 dollars at most grocery stores, its crisp and clean. If you like sparkling wines, this is a sure bet.
