Have you been wanting some Mad Men-esque attire? I have the place for you ladies!! Porshe’s Place is all about all things vintage…skirts, dresses, coats, you name it! I adore all things tea length and full skirted due to the proportions of my rear end. I’m always on the lookout on Etsy for funky skirts. I’ve actually purchased from this store before, I had two full skirts made and I love them! I got to pick my fabric and sent my measurements and voila! a skirt was born!! You can go super casual with your fabric or you can go super fancy if you want to wear one to a wedding…of course that’s the direction I went–one casual and one fancy..I mean I gotta have options!!

Today’s Etsy Spotlight is Boutique Mia. They have an adult’s store and a children’s store. Myself and Der have purchased from Boutique Mia in the past and we both love our tops. I even wore mine while I was pregnant–now I’m not saying 9 months preggers or anything but I think I could wear it through maybe month 5 or so. They are super comfy and adorable and I paired one of mine with a cardigan–I’m sure you are thinking yeah yeah what’s with you and the cardigans!! I know I know, I need to get a grip..but in the meantime go check out these stores!!

Are you feeling like me…need to spruce up the ole place for the new year? This is a really fun idea: DECALS! I love this as an idea for a nursery or children’s room because when they grow out of the theme, you can always easily change it out. But I think that theory can pretty much go with any room in your house. Tastes change but you don’t have to demoliton the whole place to change it up a bit. Check out Decor Designs selection. What better way to represent a year than in a Barb Malm t-shirt memory quilt. I’ve talked before about doing this sort of thing with my son’s onesies. But this could represent anyone…maybe your thing in 2009 was running marathons–take all your marathon tees and represent them this way. Or sorority/fraternity stuff can be done this way, or charities you helped out with. Anything! Super creative idea and a great way to recycle tees you may not wear in the future.

Etsy Spotlight: April Ink

Recently a friend of mine who is the mom to a 10-week-old baby girl told me she was approached at her pediatrician’s office by another mother regarding a play group and she handed her a calling card. My friend had never heard of a “mom” calling card before. I had gotten some a while back for myself as I’m the proud mama to a 14-month-old tackling shrieking speed demon bouncing baby boy myself. I bet you can guess what are on mine…if you guessed OWLS you are the big winner of the day!
Anyway, so since it had been a while since I was on the hunt for a calling card I decided to peruse Etsy to see what the great handmade peeps were offering now. I fell in love with all of these from April Ink. I love April Ink’s selection, colors, how modern they are….everything! And you know, you don’t have to be a mom to get a calling card…they are great for bloggers, etsy store owners, nannies, the list could go on and on.

Today’s Etsy Spotlight is on tinyleaves. Tinyleaves is another etsy shop that has infiltrated Tipsy Society either because we’ve purchased from there or we’ve been gifted something from there. Either way–go there! These earrings are perfect for everyday and she has so many different colors that you could be set for life without going broke. Hint Hint, perfect gifts!
What’s even better is that she donates 20% to Memphis MultiNational Ministries, a non-denominational Christian organization which serves the refugee community in Memphis, Tennessee. So even if you are buying for yourself, you are helping someone else! Hmmm which color am I lacking…decisions decisions!
Etsy Spotlight: ShopTipsy

Sooooo we weren’t really planning on doing this sort of thing, but we had many many requests via The Working Closet Flickr Pool. So we thought what the heck. Why not. The original idea came from the want for J. Crew ruffleness or flowers and life getting in the way. So we thought, why couldn’t we make something like that? We’re crafty! And then the CrafTEE was born and a tutorial was requested. After the tutorial, some people asked for an Etsy shop because they weren’t crafty. And so ShopTipsy was born in the hopes of making the world a better place, one ruffle and one flower at a time.
