The Burts and The Bees

I know that I am not the only girl out there who does not like lip gloss. Although I like the color options it gives me, I am not a fan of the stickiness of it.  I am a chapstick girl. Always have been, always will be. Enter Burt’s Bees Lip Shimmer. It combines the color options and shiny look of a lip gloss with the minty taste and healing capabilities of Burt’s Bees chapstick. A word to the wise: I have learned from personal experience that dogs, especially those of the wiener variety, LOVE the taste of Burt’s Bees products, be it lip shimmer or chapstick. I have lost many a tube to wiener dogs in the past. And yes, they will raid your purse to get it, its that good.

Tipsy Favs: Lip Color

We’re baaaaaaack!  Today we would like to discuss daily go-to lip color.  What do you wear?  These are our MostDaysIWearThis shades

  1. Court: Revlon Matte Lipstick, Mauve It Over-I love the matte look, its goes with every.single.color combo I use with my makeup–even when I experimenting with bold eyes or natural looks.
  2. Der: Chanel Lip Glossimer, Giggle-I know I preach frugalista til the death of me on Tipsy and this definitely doesn’t fit the bill on that. BUT I purchased this lip gloss over 2 years ago and it’s still truckin and it’s still my favorite neutral for everyday wear.
  3. AK: Bobbi Brown Cosmetics Lip Color, Slopes-I’m a fan of matte finish lipstick.  I hoard lipstick, if I’m being honest.  This is my long running fav…I know the site says its a flushed red but to me it’s more like a toned down neutral-ish plum kind of color.  It’s really creamy and smooth going on and I just love the shade.
  4. Sarah: Burt’s Bees Lip Shimmer, Fig-I’m more of a chap stick wearer than a lip stick or gloss wearer because I don’t like the way it feels. The Burts Bees is perfect because it’s my favorite chap stick and just a hint of color so I don’t look washed out.

I’m Chapped and I Ain’t Happy

It’s wintery here in Texas.  My lips are dry and peely and just plain sick. I need some assistance in the form of a chapstick, but not your average chapstick. I want something cute and glossy and maybe with a little bit o’ color, people. Is that too much to ask? No. It is not.

1. Nivea, A Kiss of Shine Natural Gloss– Glossy and smooth with extra moisture. It’s workin wonders on me.

2. Softlips, Pure Pomegrante– This stuff is amazing. Soft doesn’t begin to describe your lippers with this stuff on them. Any scent shall do, I just like pomegrante anything.

3. Chapstick, True Shimmer Botanical Berry– The tried and true chapped lip brand plus shimmer, yes please!

4. Eos, Lips Balm Sphere in Summer Fruit – Tasty smell and moisturing, just what I like. AND look how cute the packaging is… I’m a sucker for packaging.

5. Burt’s Bees, Lip Shimmer in Rhubarb– Just enough color and oh, the moisture. Thirst quencher for thy lips.

6. Covergirl, Lipslick in Daring–  Ok, so this really isn’t a “chapstick” but it is a)moisturizing and b) the most divine color ever.. like you just ate a popsicle when you were a kid.
