Cardigan Central

Here at Tipsy, we are some CARDIGAN WEARIN FOOLS! There are so so many adorable takes on the classic cardi available right now! I’m literally having to restrain myself from not purchasing each and every one of these.  BUT truth be told, while it’s still January, in Texas we may have like a possible 3 weeks left of cold weather, so I better bust out my cardis while I can!

What You’ve All Been Waiting For: Hottest Dog Fashions of 2010

It’s been a fair while since I forced my weiners into some fashionable duds… let’s call it a “holiday break”. Well, breaks over little ones… let’s take a look at what I have in store for you during 2010.

der-dog stuff

  1. Etsy, Bugduds– Sophisticated, just what every weiner should be.
  2. Old Navy,  Rugby Striped Pique Polos – Preppy and cute. The way I like em!
  3. Etsy, Miascloset – This is totally my little boy Luca… Chick.Magnet.
  4. Petsmart, Snuggie – These are all the rage. Looks like a pancho to me, but I bet my babes will be cute in them!
  5. Etsy, Shopmimigreen – I bought one of these for Zoe, but being that she’s so tiny.. the flower was about the size of her head at the time… I’m feeling 2010 as the year she might finally be able to sport it.
  6. Petsmart, Texans Jersey – This one is for your dad, pups. He’s still a fan no matter how many times they lose. We probably need to show him some support.

New Year’s Survey: Der

1. What did you do in 2009 that you’d never done before?

Got married and bought a house. 2009 was a money pit.

2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

I don’t think I had any resolutions for 2009.. .maybe to make it through my wedding planning and wedding without killing any friends or family members. I am happy to say that I did keep that one, barely.

4. Did anyone close to you die?

We lost my husband’s sweet and sometimes nutty Grandmother. We miss you Maw Maw Ivy!

5. What countries did you visit?

Um, none. Went to Colorado and Florida.. but that’s about it.

6. What would you like to have in 2010 that you didn’t have in 2009?

Less stress and maybe a little bambino 🙂 Those two things probably don’t go together very well.

7. What dates from 2009 will be etched upon your memory, and why?

February 20th, 2009.. my wedding date. Finally, after 8 years we got married.

8. What was your biggest achievement of this year?

Buying our first home, paying for our very nice wedding on our own, leaving a job that I truly was not happy with.

9. What was your biggest failure?

Letting people get to me that really shouldn’t, caring too much about things that don’t matter in the long run

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?

Nothing serious

11. What was the best thing you bought?

Our House. And my husband’s wedding band.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?

Not really sure on this one…

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?

These people shall remain nameless.

14. Where did most your money go?

Wedding, House, Honeymoon, Bills. The purchase of two weiner dogs and all their belongings.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?

UM, Getting Married. The day of my wedding was an awesome day.. spent with all my closest girlfriends and then the moment it was time to get the ceremony started… I was so excited, I can’t even describe it.

16. What song will always remind you of 2009?

Chicken Fried by Zac Brown Band.. or Party in the USA by Miley Cyrus

17. Compared to this time last year, are you: a) happier or sadder? b) thinner or fatter? c) richer or poorer?

Infinitely Happier.

Fatter, but just barely. Wedding stress was getting to me last year.
Poorer finanically, but much richer in many other ways.

18. What do you wish you’d done more of?

Relaxed, vacationed

19. What do you wish you’d done less of?

Worry, everything always works out the way it’s supposed to.

20. How did you spend Christmas?

Hosted my first ever Christmas meal for my in-laws. It turned out great!

21. Did you fall in love with 2009?

Yes and No… 2009 had a whole lot of highs, but definitely some lows too

22. What was your favorite TV program?

GLEE!

23. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?

I don’t hate anyone. Ever.

24. What was the best book you read?

Man o Man… I didn’t read any books.  I think that should go on my wish I’d Done More Of  list.

25. What was your greatest musical discovery?

I fell in love with the vocal stylings of Dave Barnes… the singer of my first dance wedding song.

26. What did you want and get?

A beautiful wedding, a cute house and two precious puppies.

27. What did you want and not get?

A third puppy to add to the mix…haha. I was denied by the hubby on that one. BUMMER!

28. What was your favorite film of 2009?

Hangover for sure… so damned funny.

29. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?

I turned 25 two days before my wedding day. My husband and I went to lunch, picked up his tuxedo, and then later my whole fam took me out to my favorite restaurant. It was an awesome day.

30. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?

I really can’t think of anything. At least not one specific thing.

31. How would you describe your personal fashion concept of 2009?

Colorful and Girly.. oh how I love my ruffles and rosettes

My friends, my family and having this blog as a creative outlet.

33. What political issue stirred you the most?

I don’t do politics.

34. Who did you miss?

I missed my husband.. he works overnight a lot and sometimes that gets lonely. AND… working with my best friends and seeing them every.single.day.

35. Who was the best new person you met?

Didn’t meet anyone new… I need to get out more apparently 🙂

36. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2009.

To be more patient… I’m very bad at that.

37. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.

“Yeah! It’s a Party in the USA!”

der-presents procured

  1. Pool Table, This was for my husband and I originally strongly hated on turning our new house into a pool hall. BUT, I have to say that this is a gift that was 100% loved by all family mems that entered our home over the holidays.
  2. Nikon D300o, My husband took all the major HINTS I had been dropping for like a year and surprised me with a new camera. BEST. GIFT. EVER. Many Christmas pics were taken in much better quality than the 1999 technology I had been using before.

The Anti-Happy Hour

Ok, let’s say you had one too many cocktails at Hump Day Happy Hour and you need a remedy STAT.  I have found a simple concoction that will take the edge off of that hangover.

der-hangover

Mix halfsies Gatorade and 7UP.

The Gatorade will recharge you and the bubbles will help the tum tum.
