Gingham: Its Not Just For Picnics Anymore…

I don’t know if anyone else has noticed, but gingham print is a big trend for this spring. I’ve always found myself gravitating towards this print, even if it does make me feel like a picnic blanket or a country bumpkin sometimes.  Either way, I am all over this trend.

Holy Cowl

A cowl neckline is somewhat of a classic that’s been around for ages, but it seems to be stepping it up to center stage because I’m spotting a cowl every which way I look. I’m a fan and being universally flattering and feminine, you should be too. Although I am not ashamed to admit that as a child when my mother said cowl neck sweater I totally thought she said cow neck sweater. I never wanted a cow neck, so I wouldn’t dare wear whatever the hell she was talking about. I’ve learned me a few things since then.

  1. Cowl Neck Sweater, Forever 21
  2. 3/4 Sleeve Cowl Top, Charlotte Russe

Tee Me Up

Being the spit up target that I am these days, a cotton tee and jeans is my standard uniform. That doesn’t mean I want to forgo all my fashion sense. Gap (my goodness am I loving all their stuff lately) has some Spring arrivals that are a) machine washable b) too cute for words. I think my Spring wardrobe is calling out to these ladies.

  1. Pleated T
  2. Zip Dolman T
  3. Shirred Inset T
  4. Tulip Sleeve T
  5. Woven Front T
  6. Tulle Trim T

Peasantly Surprised

You can ask anyone who sees me or my wardrobe on a regular basis and they will know that I gravitate towards the blousy type of top. I am not sure why, but I really do dig the look. I like it even when it’s not the cool thing to do. Anyway, I am in luck because peasant blouses are back in a big way with the 70s vibe for spring 2011. Check out all these cuties on my wishlist. GOOOOOD thing someone has a birthday coming up here shortly because #2  and #6 are really calling my name.
