Pretty Things at Every Price: Rings

Everyone needs a good chunky ring to add a little something extra to an outfit, and here are a few we all wouldn’t mind adding to ours!

  1. Melis, Ancient Cluster Ring: I would totally wear this ring because a) it would go with so many different outfits b) it’s not huge so it wouldn’t be in my way and c) its totally in my price range at under $5!
  2. Court, Atomium Ring: I love a huge ass funky ring.  This ring is totally me.  Love it, would wear this with a solid tee, some jeans and chucks.  LOVE.
  3. AK, Gold Plated Pink Quartz and Turquoise Ring: LOVE how chunky this ring is and there’s something about the combo of gold and turquoise that makes it sorta dressy.  I would definitely wear this on a night out on the town. Or sushi, whichever.
  4. Sarah, Cosmic Stack: This looks like such a nice/unique ring that you could actually wear on a daily basis! I like wearing chunkier and more interesting rings on my right hand and this would fit perfectly into my rotation…plus, LOVING the look of the copper!

Update: Thirty-One Winner

Remember our Thirty-One Giveaway? Do you guys remember that Tipsy Reader Charing won?  She said in her comment:

I have four kids and a dog that I chauffeur all over town in my minivan. I would use the tote as a catch all to keep everyones “stuff” from rolling around in the car.  It also looks big enough to put a picnic dinner in for my large family.

Charing gave us an update on what bag she chose and sent along a picture.  We thought it was TOO CUTE and wanted to share with the other Tipsy Readers!

Pretty Things at Every Price: Bracelets

Last week was earrings, and this week is bracelets…looks like there’s something for everyone’s taste and budget!

  1. Der: Metal Gem Cuff, I love the distressed bronze color of this bracelet and it’s a statement piece that you can add to a simple outfit for more flair for only $4.00!
  2. Court: Retro Chartreuse Bangle, Love love the resin retro look to this one. I also think that color yellow is a great accent to almost any outfit.
  3. AK: Turquoise Howlite Cross, I’m pretty sure everything I’m going to pick in regards to jewelry is going to have turquoise in it.  I would totally add this bracelet for my pop of color in an otherwise basic black top and jeans outfit.
  4. Sarah: Silver and Leather Wrap Bracelet, This is a really cute and simple bracelet that I could see myself wearing on a daily basis…something perfect and a little edgy for fall!

Pretty Things at Every Price: Earrings

Up this month for PTAEP, jewelry! I mean, a girl can’t get enough…can she? (Pssshhhh…who are we kidding, NO we can’t get enough!) First up, earrings:

  1. Der: Lacquered Crescent Earrings, There is a contestant on Project Runway that has been sporting some earrings almost identical to these and I’m crushing on them HARD.
  2. AK: Organic Oval-Blue Turquoise, I tend to be drawn towards earrings that are bold and have turquoise in them…so these are right up my alley!
  3. Sarah: Crystal Pebble Earrings, Sometimes you just need some studs right!?! I LOVE the simple elegance of these earrings, and I actually have a few weddings in the near future and these would certainly jazz up my ensembles!
  4. Court: Matte Drop Leaf Earring, Shaped like leaves.  Love anything nature related especially earrings. Love that they are drop/dangles (whateverthehellyoucallthestyle) cause those always tend to be pieces you can wear with anything.

Pretty Things At Every Price: Shirtdresses

This is the last in our series of Pretty Things in the dress genre.  We are ending it with shirtdresses!

  1. Der-Women’s Belted Woven Dress-Here is one helluva a deal and a perfect fall wine color.. would be highly adorable with some tall boots. Of course when it’s not 106 degrees.
  2. Court-Speechless Women’s Striped Long Sleeve Shirtdress-So I don’t tend to gravitate towards the men’s work shirt dresses as much as I do the t-shirt dress look.  Love the simplicity and the stripes of this dress and matches great with a set of leggings.
  3. AK-Bailey Blue Junior’s Military  Long Sleeve Shirtdress-I love the neckline of this dress and I also love that it’s an empire waist! I’d definitely wear this with some chunky turquoise earrings.
  4. Sarah-Long Sleeve Military Shirtdress-This dress may be on the short side for you leggier ladies, but I think it’s totally adorable…add some tights or tall boots like Der and Court suggested and you’re ready for that transition from summer to fall!

Shower de Der

We promised yall an overall compilation of the shower itself and here it is!! Like we said yesterday, our inspiration was Der’s nursery colors which are turquoise, green, yellow and grey.  From there we found the invitation we wanted to use and then used that same logo throughout the rest of the shower.

  1. Sarah was in charge of the blocks and this is what she had to say about them, “I got the idea to use the blocks for guests to sign when I was Facebook stalking (you know, because everyone does that), but Court was the one that actually found these cuties on Etsy from Sweet Olivia Designs. She was so easy to work with and now Aiden will have a life long memory of all the people who loved and supported him even before he was born!”
  2. The flowers we special ordered from Costco in colors closest to what we were using: blue hydrangeas, green mums, yellow roses and yellow buttons.
  3. Der’s corsage was made out of baby socks using floral tape, yellow raffia and a blue pacifier.  Everything was disassembled after the shower so she could still utilize all the components.
  4. We served wine, beer, and strawberry basil lemonade (recipe here). We made name labels for both cups and the wine glasses.
  5. Our paper goods were in coordinating colors via Party City.
  6. The “cake”scape as promised! We made all the cake/cupcakes ourselves and then put the toppers (from Two Sugar Babies) on before the party.  The crazy babies on the cake were added as a last minute decision.  We thought about taking an up close pic of the plastic babies and sending it to Der ahead of time as a sneak peek of her shower but we figured that would scare the shit out of her, so we didn’t.

The mommy and daddy to be.  Check out daddy’s t-shirt–it was handcrafted and a huge hit at the party.  It was his surprise for us Tipsy gals!  We also made a boutonniere out of a cigar, blue raffia and a pacifier for him!

(By the way you can catch a glimpse of the poms in the background in these last two pics!)

Our apologies for the blurry pics!!

Shower de Der: Invites

Us Tipsy gals threw our BFF Der a fabulous (if I do say so myself) couples baby shower over the weekend, and we feel the need to share some of the details!

First up, the invitations…there were so many cute options out there, but we ended up going with one we found on Etsy by pixelstixshop. She had the JPEG already created, but used custom colors to match the decor of the shower (and the babies room)! After we had the JPEG in hand, we thought we would just have the invite printed on picture paper, but that turned out to be no bueno, so we went with a local printer that did a fantastic job and was really easy to work with…I mean, who doesn’t like to keep the local economy stimulated anyway!?!

Der loved the invitations and they ended up being the centerpiece for the rest of our decorations…stay tuned, more details to come!

The Tipsy Wedding Project: Roundup!!

Hey Christen! So we know you’ve got a wedding coming up pretty soon and we thought we’d let you know what the readers picked for you in all genres we came up with.  I think it all looks pretty snazzy if I do say so myself!

  1. AK-This bouquet is so RICH in color and I believe that’s what Christen is going for.  This combines roses, lilies (calla), and a tiny bit of hydrangea.  I love the berries and seeded eucalyptus which can be incorporated into some badass boutonnieres when we get to those.
  2. Sarah-I love this invite because it’s simple with a touch of modern romance!
  3. AK-Very simple, mini calla to tie in the bride’s bouquet with a little bit of a twist of that twine stuff or whatever it is.  LOVE IT.
  4. Der-These are cute and orange and would totally be reusable later on with a par-TAY dress! I did apple green shoes under my wedding dress, but they were dyed and therefore unable to be worn in wet conditions.. BOO!!  and her groom could wear these.
  5. Court-My idea for the centerpieces is heavily influenced by the centerpiece/florals at Der’s wedding.  I love the mixture of fruit and floral.  You can work in whatever flowers you choose at the top or the base and include whole oranges or slices.  I think its comes off so elegant and FUN.
  6. Der-This is something I WISH I would have done at my wedding! So easy.. just find two seconds (easier said than done) in your busy reception time hold the sign saying Thank You and voila! Turn it into super adorable thank you cards for all those wedding gifts that you rake in!
  7. Der-I did cookie favors in our wedding colors with our last initial on them and they were quite the hit. The taste testing part is pretty much awesome too. You can either have them at each place setting or do a pass out situation when guests are leaving.
  8. Sarah-I LOVE this. It’s not as cheesy as a pillow and it’s something the bride and groom can keep forever!
  9. Sarah-I would choose either the yellow or red shoe to wear with the bridesmaids dresses. These are fun, sassy, and tie into the fall colors nicely.

Thanks everybody for voting! Christen & Ed, Best Wishes from the Tipsy Gals!
