Intervention Needed

I love it when my Mom comes to visit me; however….

This is what ALWAYS happens when she’s here.

  • We always shop ’til we drop.
  • It always takes me days to put things away.
  • Little to none of these items were on sale.
  • I’m embarrassed broke.

INTERVENTION is needed STAT!

Deck My Neck

A great necklace can add that perfect POW to an otherwise blah outfit. I’ve been really stuck on long necklaces lately. I don’t feel like I’m choking and I just toss one or MAYBE even a few more and layer it up  over a plain t shirt and I’m feelin’ like a million bucks!

5 Deals on Basics Under $5 Dollas

5 Bucks! 5 big ones! 5 Smackaroos! 5 greenbacks! These are some mighty fine staple items for just a teeny tiny price tag. I’ve personally tried all of these items and can vouch that they are awesome squared. Get prepared for a bargain induced coma!

  1. Walmart, Faded Glory Organic Stretch Cotton Tanks $4 each- These are a great staple tank top that I buy every year. Perfect for under a cardi, over a tee for some cute layering or just alone on those hot summa’ days.
  2. Forever21, Basic Fitted Tee $3.50 each- I have been buying these tees for YEARS and they actually hold up remarkably well. Great basic and I love that they are made longer for us long torso gals and the stretch helps them keep their shape all day long.
  3. Walmart, Lace Tanga Panties $3.70 each- I’m not trying to be all up in yo face with my undergarments, but I’d be doing you an injustice not to tell you that these are the bomb. And pretty damn cute too, if I don’t say so myself.
  4. Old Navy, Womens Flip Flops– $3.50 each- I feel like I’m preaching to the choir here about these, but they really are a staple in my book. I end up with about a bazillion of these each summer and they are so cheap that I can replace them every year and think nothing of it.
  5. Forever21, Polished Hoops $3.80 – Being that I feel naked without any earrings on, these are a savior on the mornings when I don’t wanna give much thought into anything. And um, UNDER.4.BUCKs. Need I say more??

5 Ways to Make a Plain White Tee Not So Plain

It doesn’t get much more basic than a plain white tee. But a plain white tee is like a blank canvas.  So, if take a plain white tee such as this and pair any one of these and you are on your way to a show stopping outfit!

  4. Forever21, Patent Bow Belt

Sporty Spice Spring Collection, Bring On The Heat!!!

I’m ready for the sun.  Not alot of stores have gone completely tank top, sandals and shorts, but I am definitely ready for a little spring in my step.  Here are a few pieces and items that I plan on adding to my collection.

  1. Francesca’s Hoodie – if it has a hoodie, put my name on it.  These are thin and colorful.  Totally getting it.
  2. Tulle Jacket – because I like to run my AC right about 80 degrees, I will still need something to cover myself through the next few months.  Too cute.  On another note, I have also realized that I am an addict of this sites Tulle’s Day sales.  I racked in 5 nice peices for about 25.00 (including shipping).  You should defintely join their mailing list if you aren’t on it already to cash in on the saving.  Der was in on the last sale too and raked it in as well.  It’s also fun to call random days ‘Tulle’s Day’, I owe that site for that as well!
  3. Roxy Tank – because its cute.  That is all.
  4. Opi  –  Done out in Deco – I own this color already, so I am ahead of game on this one.  I love it because its a  purple nail color, but not completely offensive.  There is a very fine line there ladies.  Very fine.
  5. Old Navy Cargos – am I too old to wear these?  Probably.  Will they flatter my figure?  Most likely not.  Are they badass because they have tiny little paint splatters on them? Hellz yes.
  6. Fossil Crossbody – as long as my obession with cross body bags doesn’t turn to fanny packs, I think the tipsy girls will still dig my style.  I can’t decide if I need this one in red or pink?
  7. Simple Slippers – I’ll need these for when I feel like wearing red seude shoes.  I don’t know about ya’ll but that may just be every day for me.

I LIKE Not Matching, Thank you.

Inspired by a post that I couldn’t get out of my head from one of my favorite bloggers, I wanna chat a bit about cool color combinations. Gone are the days of matchy matchy and all neutrals. I like to play around with all sorts of colors in all aspects of my life. And I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard “that doesn’t match” from those around me. It doesn’t have to match, it has to GO people!  Here are some of my most favorite fashion color combos. Do y’all have any that you regularly wear??

  1. Coral, Grey and Yellow – This is so springy and feminine. I love grey and yellow alone, but adding in the pop of coral is so girly!
  2. Eggplant and Orange– Pretty, complimentary of one another, and just so so darn cute! I don’t think I know a single person that doesn’t look good in eggplant.
  3. Red, White, and Navy– Sure, you can call me a sailor or patriotic, but there is something so classic, but not plain about this combo and I LOVE it.
  4. Purple and Lime– Dark Purple is like Black to me…. it needs something to liven it up! Enter lime!
  5. Turquoise and Orange– These two colors are bright ones, but oh how fun are they together?!?  They seem to be the perfect ying and yang for me.
  6. Yellow with Royal Blue– Yellow is a funny color. So many people don’t wear it, but I am not one of those people. And royal blue just makes it POP!
  7. Kelly Green with Turquoise– Two of my most favorite colors slammed together… perfection.
