Sweet Valentine

These two items would make me immensely happy on Valentine’s Day.  Oh who am I kidding, I’d be fine with just the candy.

Budding Romance Bouquet, 1800Flowers.com
Sour Patch Peaches, Amazon

What would make you happy this Valentine’s Day?

Bamboo Love

For whatever reason, I’m finding myself drawn to all things made of bamboo here lately…maybe it’s the colors, maybe it’s the natural material, but whatever the reason, here are a few of my current loves:

  1. CB2, Bamboo Dry Erase
  2. Target, Red Bamboo Vase
  3. Target, Good Cook Bamboo Spatulas
  4. Target, Coiled Bamboo Bowl (They have this in turquoise in the store and I NEED it on my dining room table!)

I think it’s super easy to find something cute for a little girl for Valentine’s Day…so today I am providing all you boy mom’s with some options.

  1. So Handsome Tie Valentine’s Day Tshirt, Etsy
  2. Ex Oh Layered Tee, Hanna Andersson
  3. Ex Oh Layered Tee, Hanna Andersson
  4. Heart Breaker Tee, Etsy

Shower de Sarah

We thought we’d share a few pics from the baby shower we helped throw for Sarah and her hubby over the weekend.  Sarah and Kynn have decided to not find out if they are having a boy or girl ahead of time so we had to stick with a strictly gender neutral shower.  Dr. Seuss was the answer!  We couldn’t possibly get all the decor in these shots but hoooo boy was it cute!

We had Seuss cookies and cupcakes and Seuss themed flowers and Red Fish and Blue Fish…and the list goes on and on!  Instead of a sign in book, we had everyone sign in on a copy of “Oh, The Places You’ll Go”.  Throughout the house we used Seuss books and stuffed Seuss characters as decor.  We also played two games: Baby Animal Matchathon and Baby Price is Right.  Definitely fun games as they were both a bit challenging.  All in all I think everyone had fun and Sarah and Kynn got a ton of very cute baby stuff.  Congrats to Sarah & Kynn! Can’t wait to meet the new addition!!

Christmas in Review: AK

We had a great Christmas! My husband and I think this year has been the best so far in terms of celebrating with our son.  He got excited to hand out gifts and open gifts and play with everything.  It was super fun.  Here are a few things I got for Christmas this year:

  1. Jewelry Cleaner, Brookstone-If you’ve ever thought about getting one of these things, do it! Do it now! All you do is add water and it uses sound waves to clean everything.  I immediately did my wedding ring and watch and embarrassed at the amount of gunk that came off both of them.  And I THOUGHT I kept them clean.  This also does eyeglasses, which I haven’t done yet but am psyched to do.
  2. Jackie cardigan, J.Crew-I love these cardigans and buy them at the outlet store or ask for them as gifts.  I’m a cardigan addict.  I received navy and cerise for Christmas.
  3. iPhone Case, Kate Spade-I was in need of a new case and received one like this and it’s right up my alley what with all the colors!!
  4. Apple gift card, Apple-In combination with my husband we received enough apple gift cards to purchase an iPad.  However after a twitter questionnaire we’ve decided to wait on the next version to come out before we buy it.  I think that’s in April.  I think.
  5. iSi Flexible Mixing Bowls, Amazon-A month or so ago, in an effort to do something in the kitchen, I gave my son a couple of mixing bowls and a wooden spoon to occupy him.  That turned into me needing new bowls.  I don’t think these will break.

The best gift of all might be what Santa brought my son.  He loves it more than anything and it gives his parents a chance to sit and chill for a few minutes. Little Star Bouncer, Walmart

Christmas in Review: Sarah

The Holidays this year could not have been better…ok, I could have done without the chilling cold and the torrential downpours, but other than that, it was a great low-key, and relaxing time!

I also must have been VERY good this year because Santa was VERY nice to me. Check out some of the loot:

  1. Michele 18mm Patent Leather Watch Strap
  2. Nikon D3100 Digital Camera
  3. “What to Cook and How to Cook it”
  4. McKenna Travel Folio

Holiday Gift Guides: Last Minute

You know who you are, those people that wait until the last possible second to buy gifts for all your peeps. I’ve never been this person, but I would imagine if I was, that it would be easiest to buy everything from one store…you know, one stop shop, and my shop of choice: Target!

  1. Canon SD1300 Digital Camera
  2. Boston Traveler Croc Print Leather Checkbook Wallet
  3. Digital Décor 7″ LCD Slim Digital Photo Frame
  4. Global Girlfriend Darling Dots Scarf

Cozy Up With Some Wine

If you have a party or a neighbor that you need to get a little gift for, why not spruce up a bottle of wine and give that?  Here’s some super cute cozies that I found.  I think it’s a tie between #2 and #6 for me.  Which one is your fav?

  1. Deer Head Wine Topper, At West End
  2. Wine Bottle Sleeve, The Unique Bird Etsy Shop
  3. Santa Hat & Scarf Set, Christina’s Yarn Crafts Etsy Shop
  4. Wine Bag Lush, Since Sass Etsy Shop
  5. Stole Wine Choker, Pottery Barn
  6. Curly Hat Santa Wine Topper, At West End

Girly Stocking Stuffers

I definitely wouldn’t mind any of these showing up in my stocking this year!!

  1. Pinwheel Hairpins, It’s Beaded Bliss Etsy Shop-I’ve been loving on hairpins lately and I’m loving on these turquoise ones.
  2. Ped Egg, Amazon-I’ve always wanted to try this thing!!
  3. Japanese Decoration Tape, Uncommon Goods-I think this would be super cute to have when you wrap something in just brown kraft paper.
  4. Leather Keyring, Exposures-I need a new key ring and what better than to carry around a pic of the kiddo.
  5. OPI Cuticle Oil to Go, Amazon-I always leave cuticle oil in my car so I can do a mini mani at a stop light.  This would make things super easy.
  6. Round Pill Box, Target-I need a pill box to keep vitamins and tylenol in my purse.
  7. Shea Butter Lip Balm Stick, L ‘Occitane-my all time favorite lip balm.
  8. Oxo Good Grips Travel Mug, Amazon-the most amazing travel mug ever.  Never leaks, ever.  My husband generally fight over who uses this mug because we only have one.

Christmas Wishlist: Sarah Edition

I think the rule should be…if you’re carrying a baby around in your stomach, you should get everything on your list…right!?!?!?!

  1. Target, Simply Shabby Chic® Blue Linen Duvet Set: My house if over run with red…including my 2 guest rooms…I think this would tone down my fave color and add a lot of warmth.
  2. Best Buy, Nikon D3100: You know, to take fabulous pics of my sure-to-be adorable bambino(a).
  3. Anthropologie,  Beaded Swag Bib Necklace: I don’t think I have any yellow jewelry!
  4. Amazon, Fiesta Oval Serving Bowl: I learned from my girl AK, you can never have too many serving pieces! 🙂
  5. Amazon, Fiesta Utensil Crock: You know, to also break up the oh so much red in my house…
  6. Endless.com, Tamarac Pile-lined Moccasin: These are for my soon to come swollen ankles…
  7. The Container Store, Double Acrylic Shelves: I would actually use this as a small end table in my nursery…so it’s not “technically” for me.
  8. Sur la Table, Cuisinart Mini Food Processor: I’m actually considering making my own baby food and I hear a food processor is a must…so again, “technically” not for me.
