Hump Day Happy Hour: Margaritas Revisited

It’s starting to get hot and humid here in Houston…in the 80s for the most part.  And my being pregnant means I feel about 20 degrees hotter than that.  I will be counting down the days until I can have my favorite drink to cool down: The Margarita.

Everyone reading this, please go and have a margarita for me!!  Come summer time I will be able to join you all!!

Fill up the Minute Maid container about 3/4 full with Mr & Mrs T Margarita Mix and add to the blender.  Then fill the container 3/4 full with tequila* and add to the blender as well.  Add ice to the top of the blender container.  Blend and drink. You can pour into a glass or you could just drink it out of the blender pitcher.  Whichever you prefer.

I’m Just Teasing

I have mentioned before that I have fine, thin hair. That being said, my sister recently introduced me to my new best friend, the Spornette Little Wonder Teasing Brush. This is little wonder gives me tons and tons of volume. I’m talking Snooki levels, no bump-it required. I use it with hair spray when I need more height, and without when I just want a little boost.

Hump Day Happy Hour: March Madness On Crack

March Madness began last week.  For those of you who don’t know, it is the huge NCAA college basketball tournament. I happened to be in Las Vegas when it began, and let me tell you, those people were definitely on something. Was it crack, or just a shit ton of alcohol, we will never know. What I do know is that it was crazy. Now, I am not a big basketball fan, but this year Houston is the lucky host of the Final Four so I thought I should celebrate that with a cocktail (even though my team lost in the first round…).

1 oz Peach Schnapps
1 oz Triple Sec
1 1/2 oz Vodka
4 oz  Monster Energy Drink
3 oz Orange Gatorade

Mix it all together and serve in a highball glass.

* The recipe actually calls for Amp energy drink but I personally think it is disgusting so I changed it to Monster. If you are anti-energy drink, I imagine this drink would taste good without that ingredient, although you may want to add some soda so its not too strong…

Dreaming about Dreamfarm

I stumbled across these utensils last week and immediately shared with a couple of people.  BOTH ordered items instantly.  Everything is so unique, but more importantly practical.  Here are my favs.

  1. Clongs
  2. Scizza – scissors that cut pizza.  FTW, mind blown!
  3. Chopula
  4. Supoon

Perfect gift for that mod-chef!

$3 Hair Euphoria

Suave Professionals Dry Shampoo is a new product and looked interesting, so I bought it. I tried it on my grease ball second day hair and ran screaming into my guest room to tell Melis: IT WORKS! IT SMELLS GREAT (much much better than Treseme)! IT’S $3! We had thought it was too good to be true, but no. And you would think I would have more cool things going on than to be super pumped about a hair product, but also no.

Hump Day Happy Hour: Irish Cactus

It ain’t green, but this little sucker will sting going down!

  • 2 oz Irish cream liqueur
  • 1 oz tequila
  • Pour over ice in an old-fashioned glass.

Enjoy and be safe.  HAPPY ST. PATTY’S TO ALL OUR READERS!

    The Apple Of My Eye

Let me start this by saying I am an apply crisp lover. However, now matter where you get it, it is bound to have a million gazillion calories. That doesn’t really work for me. What I have discovered, ladies, is the answer to my prayers. Dole Apply Cinnamon Fruit Crisp. Individual apple crisp serving that can travel with me wherever I may go. Low calorie, low fat, and delicious. A+ rating in my book.

    Do You Believe In Magic?

I sure do! That is, I believe in L’Oreal Studio Secrets Magic Perfecting Base. I put this on before foundation (obviously, that’s what you do with primers after all) and it makes my skin feel like silk, or in the words of Ak, a baby’s behind. It evens out my skin tone and makes my pores look smaller. Its like a magic! Guess that’s where they got the name…

Hump Day Happy Hour: Middle Sister Wine

I came across these wines recently at my local Target store and they instantly caught my eye. According to the website, these wines are named for the sister who “has a personality of her own and steals the show”. For those of you who don’t know, I am the middle sister in my family so I might be a tad bit biased 🙂 In addition to the cute back-story, each type of wine has its own cute name and story, AND they sell for around $10! Drama Queen Pinot Grigio
    Mischief Maker Cabernet Sauvignon
    Smarty Pants Chardonnay
    Goodie Two-Shoes Pinot Nior

    Riding the Wave

I got this new contraption and I have to tell the blog world about it. It’s a large barreled wave iron by Revlon and I love it. I got it from my local Target and barely contained myself long enough to rip open the packaging and test it out. I ran it very quickly through my hair within 5 minutes and this was the result.

Perfect beachy waves for summer. I am positive if I take more time and accuracy I could produce some more clean and perfect waves too. Run, do not walk and get yourself one too!
