Nightlight, Nightbright

Although my son isn’t sleeping in his room yet, I have noticed that it is pitch black in there at night. So I went on the hunt for an adorable nightlight over the weekend and came across these cuties at my local Target:

  1. Circo Turtle Nightlight
  2. Circo Car Nightlight
  3. Circo Love & Nature Mushroom Nightlight

They had more in the store than they did online…I got the CUTEST little bird for the kiddos room!

Here Comes Peter Cotton Tail…

Easter is right around the corner, and since this is my first “holiday” as a Mom,  can’t WAIT for my little guy to see what the Easter Bunny brought him! First stop, picking up the perfect basket. These are some cuties that I ran across on my hunt:

  1. Pottery Barn, Puffy Easter Baskets
  2. Etsy, Fabric Coil Basket
  3. Etsy, Personalized Easter Basket
  4. Etsy, Boys Bugs Easter Basket
  5. Etsy, Canvas Spring Basket
  6. Target, Felt Easter Basket: I went with a basket VERY similar  to this (Charlie’s is a robot) from Target (I can’t find them online). Super-cute, and at $2.00, super cheap!

West Elm Hurricanes

The minute I saw this picture of these hurricanes combined with the somewhat Spring weather we’ve been having it made me want to set this scene up in my backyard, kick back with a glass of wine and just chill out.  Then I snapped back into reality and realized that probably by next week it will be hotter than the fiery pits of hell outside here in Texas and also that I can’t drink yet because I haven’t finished growing this baby.  But a girl can dream right?

  1. Terracotta Cutout Hurricanes, West Elm
  2. Porcelain Tealight Holders, West Elm
  3. Porcelain Hurricanes, West Elm

Hang Your Hat Up

I recently shared with you my unusual method of necklace storage, so I thought I would now share my ingenious method of hat storage. You see, I have a lot of hats. I have learned from experience that sunburnt scalps suck so if I spend any amount of time in the sun (which is all the time in spring and summer) I will have a hat on my head. While trying to figure out a way to cleverly store my hats without crushing them, I happened upon  some tie back hooks I had leftover from hanging curtains. There in lies my genius. You can just screw them into the wall and hang up your hat. They come in packages of 6 for about $1, and you can usually make more than one hat fit on each hook.  Like I said, ingenious.

I Have 2 Nice Racks…

And they hold my necklaces. Gotcha! Seriously though, using a tie rack as necklace storage might be the best idea I have ever had. Actually I stole it from my old roommate, so it wasn’t my idea at all. But it might be the best idea anyone has had. You can get a tie rack for around 5 bucks so there is no need to be wasting money on the expensive ones unless you are going for looks. (Obviously I was not if that picture is any indication). Just screw it into your closet wall and BAM! Cheap, easy storage.

Hump Day Happy Hour: Irish Cactus

It ain’t green, but this little sucker will sting going down!

  • 2 oz Irish cream liqueur
  • 1 oz tequila
  • Pour over ice in an old-fashioned glass.

Enjoy and be safe.  HAPPY ST. PATTY’S TO ALL OUR READERS!

    Easter Basket Time!

I’ve been on the Etsy hunt for Easter basket stuff so that the standard candy filled eggs aren’t the only thing my child opens as he has enough energy for about 4 children combined without sugar.  Here is what I’ve come up with thus far….

    1. Easter Bunny Initial Tee, Gorno Couture
    2. Suess-a-saurus Clip On Tail, The Blue Orange
    3. Dinosaur Jumbo Crayons, Lil Doodlers
    4. Personalized Matching Game, Burlap & Blue
    5. Mini I-Spy Bag, Emmie’s Designs

    Serena and Lily

I just love almost anything and everything from this store. Here are some of my current faves:

    1. Binth Baby Book
    2. Menagerie Bookends
    3. Square Chairs
    4. Senegalese Storage Baskets

Recycled Scraps Never Looked So Good

I’m loving this brightly woven stuff from Viva Terra.  They explain that this is called Indian Chindi, where you take remnants and weave them together…a kind of recycling.  I would LOVE to learn how to do this!  But for now I’ll just take that stool.

    1. Chindi Bench
    2. Chindi Folding Stool
    3. Chindi Folding Chair and Barstool
    4. Chindi Mat

    Ready for Baby!

I’ve been working hard on getting the nursery together and I think it’s finally done…so of course I had to share it with everyone!
