The Month of Luuuuuuuv

I put a wreath on my door for about 4 different occasions: Valentine’s Day, Cinco de Mayo, Fall, and Christmas.  My Cinco de Mayo wreath has Corona bottles attached to it and I generally leave it up for most of the Summer and throw some American flags in those bottles when we hit the Fourth of July.  But let’s not get ahead of ourselves, first up is Valentine’s Day.  These are definitely my top picks that I’m looking at for this year.  When do you put wreaths on your door?

  1. Argyle Hearts, Hemccoy’s Etsy Shop
  2. Rosette Wreath, Homemade Colectibles Etsy Shop
  3. Initial Statice Wreaths, NHWoodsCreations Etsy Shop
  4. My Heart Yarn Wreath, ItzFitz Etsy Shop

Now I Know My ABCs!

I have had this custom artwork bookmarked for a long, long time.  I SO SO SO want to get one of these for each of my boys.  I love that it can be so personalized and can be a learning tool not just in terms of education but of family-both past and present.

A Pouf, Pouffe, or Floor Cushion

Whatever you call it, I’m in love with these things. I’m trying to find one to use in the nursery as a little foot stool for my rocking chair, but I just can’t decide…do you have anything like this in your house?

  1. CB2, Knitted Poufs
  2. Etsy, Amy Butler Floor Cushion Ottoman
  3. Etsy, Hand Screen Printed Floor Cushion Cover
  4. Etsy, Pouffe Crochet

Best Hide-a-bed Ever?

I’m an avid watcher of the Guiliana and Bill  reality show. (If you don’t watch it you need to get on board.) If you do watch it, how sucky was the ending for Guiliana and Bill!?!?!

Anyway, when they were decorating their L.A. apartment, they picked up this sofa for the study and I thought it was awesome!

It’s a) a cute sofa b) pulls out into a sleek bed, and c) can also store pillows and blankets!

Acrylic Obsession

I’m not sure what it is, but I’m obsessed with anything and everything that’s made out of acrylic these days. I haven’t actually purchased any of these items, but they’re on my SERIOUS wish list right about….NOW!

  1. CB2, Acrylic Leaning Wine Rack
  2. Amazon, Acrylic Nesting Tables
  3. The Container Store, Acrylic Shelves
  4. Amazon, Anime Chair (set of 2)
  5. Crate and Barrel, Acrylic 5×7 Block Frame
  6. The Container Store, Magazine Slipcase

Frame It!

I’m a huge fan of the Noelle Dass artwork you see here.  I’ve got a couple of these prints in my son’s room and plan to get a few new ones for the new one on the way.  I love how whimsical and bright they are.  Our house is pretty colorful and I feel like these definitely help tie the house together.

Do you try and tie your kid’s rooms into the rest of your house?

I Love Lamp

This started out with me looking for a lamp for the nursery and then I got distracted.  I’ll let you decide which lamps are options for which.  As a side note, if you are a One Kings Lane subscriber and you remember a couple weeks back the sale on lamps, specifically the chevron pattern table lamp, I would be ever so grateful if you would leave me a comment and tell me the brand because I can’t for the life of me remember and I NEED two for my living room.  Thanks!

  1. Owl Lamp, Target
  2. Devo Round Table Lamp, Walmart
  3. Woodland Lamp, Serena & Lily
  4. Mack with the Blue Cord Table Lamp, Crate & Barrel
  5. Jonathan Adler Giraffe Lamp, misomod

Christmas in Review: Court

Man o Man does Ben Santa really have my number.  Here’s a few of my favorite items that I raked in this holiday!

  1. Better Home and Garden Patio Furniture Set – Mimi and PawPaw gave this to both Ben and I.  I can’t wait to have some friends and family over to enjoy this set.  It’s fits perfect with my decor.
  2. Fortune Cookie Soap – these things are too cute.  They actually all have a paper fortune in there, but are the perfect accent for my guest bathroom.
  3. Cat Necklace – since I’ve been banned by Ben and the city I believe from obtaining another kittah, Ben got me this.  I absolutely adore it!
  4. I CAN HAZ Calendar – this is actually the first year they printed these.  Looks great on my office wall.

I’ll tell you where I didn’t hit it big and that was the lotto tix in Aus, Ben and my stockings.  Of all the tickets we scratched we won $2 collectively! Everything else made up for it though.

Animal House

I am in nursery decorating mode part dos and it’s a boy this time around as well so I’ll be continuing my love for the animal kingdom!  I love little felt animals to put on shelfs or what have you in the nursery to pump up the decor.  I found all of these on Etsy of course.  Which is your fav?

  1. Moe the Pooch
  2. Bandit the Raccoon
  3. Blue Penguin
  4. Salt n Peppa Hedgehog
  5. Count the Sheep
  6. Pounce the Fox
  7. Gerry the Giraffe
  8. Blue Bird with Beret
  9. Felt Lion
  10. Summit the Giraffe

Christmas in Review: AK

We had a great Christmas! My husband and I think this year has been the best so far in terms of celebrating with our son.  He got excited to hand out gifts and open gifts and play with everything.  It was super fun.  Here are a few things I got for Christmas this year:

  1. Jewelry Cleaner, Brookstone-If you’ve ever thought about getting one of these things, do it! Do it now! All you do is add water and it uses sound waves to clean everything.  I immediately did my wedding ring and watch and embarrassed at the amount of gunk that came off both of them.  And I THOUGHT I kept them clean.  This also does eyeglasses, which I haven’t done yet but am psyched to do.
  2. Jackie cardigan, J.Crew-I love these cardigans and buy them at the outlet store or ask for them as gifts.  I’m a cardigan addict.  I received navy and cerise for Christmas.
  3. iPhone Case, Kate Spade-I was in need of a new case and received one like this and it’s right up my alley what with all the colors!!
  4. Apple gift card, Apple-In combination with my husband we received enough apple gift cards to purchase an iPad.  However after a twitter questionnaire we’ve decided to wait on the next version to come out before we buy it.  I think that’s in April.  I think.
  5. iSi Flexible Mixing Bowls, Amazon-A month or so ago, in an effort to do something in the kitchen, I gave my son a couple of mixing bowls and a wooden spoon to occupy him.  That turned into me needing new bowls.  I don’t think these will break.

The best gift of all might be what Santa brought my son.  He loves it more than anything and it gives his parents a chance to sit and chill for a few minutes. Little Star Bouncer, Walmart
