Just Call Me Henley Harry

One area of fashion that could use a huge overhaul is nursing wear for new moms. It’s all either extremely expensive or extremely fugly. So, I’ve set out to locate regular clothing that is nursing friendly. One style that seems to be working great for me so far is a henley style top.  The buttons allow for easy access (haha) and I seem to be able to find these at local inexpensive retailers so I’m not shelling out my child’s college fund for mommy’s wardrobe.

I’d love suggestions from any of you would have been creative on this front with your wardrobe. What worked for you?

  1. Old Navy, Womens Thermal Henley
  2. Old Navy, Womens Hooded Rib Knit Henley
  3. Old Navy, Womens Ruffle Trim Henley
  4. Old Navy, Womens Lightweight Jersey Henley
  5. Walmart, Womens Long Sleeve Henley
  6. Target, Womens Henley

Well, Hello Strangers

Ready or not… Im BACK! Back to the ole’ Tipsy grind. And I’d like to celebrate my return with two things:

A. This adorable picture of my sweet AJ.

B. This list of things that kept me sane/ allowed me to survive the last 4 weeks.

  1. Target, Full Sling Nursing Tank with Lace– These are like god’s gift to a nursing mom. Perfect thickness for extra support for the gals, long for us long bodied individuals and pop on a jacket or cardi and you don’t look quite like the frump you may feel like.
  2. Old Navy, Wide Leg Active Pants – I wore these home from the hospital, wear them as PJs at night and what the hay! Sometimes I keep them on all day long… I do have a newborn; I think I’m allowed.
  3. Amazon, Fisher Price I Glide Cradle and Swing– My lil gent loves this thing and will chill happily while mommy fixes dinner, does laundry or cat naps. Fisher Price, I can never thank you enough.
  4. Kohls, Carter’s Body Suits – My child is long and skinny and when he was swimming in all the newborn clothes we had, these babies were a life saver and fit him like a glove.
  5. Amazon, My Little Lamb Infant Seat– This goes anywhere I go and need a free set of hands. Like the bathroom, for instance. The vibrations and music set my little angel straight into slumber in most cases and allow mom to get a quick bathroom break or shower in. Plus, it’s so very soft and cozy. I wish they made one in my size.
  6. Amazon, Maxwell House International Cafe’ Suisse Mocha– I do not ever drink coffee or coffee related drinks. EVER. My mother brought this over to my house for her own personal enjoyment when she comes to visit the baby since I’m a coffee-less house. I tried it once and I’ve been like a crack addict over this stuff ever since. Good lawdy, I’m hooked.

I Want My Nephew In One Of These…

As most of you know, my sister Der recently gifted me with the cutest nephew I could ever wish for. Ever since I was notified of his impending arrival I couldn’t help but look at all the cute baby outfits out there and imagine him in them. It has gotten even worse since he made his debut.  Take Halloween for instance.  Now, I know its not practical to dress up a 3 week old baby in a costume, but I can’t help but think his cuteness level would be off the charts in any one of these…

  1. Caterpillar Bunting Halloween Costume
  2. Guppy Fish Bunting Halloween Costume
  3. Hot Dog Bunting Halloween Costume My personal favorite 🙂
  4. Smurfs Smurf Bunting Halloween Costume
  5. Pumpkin Bunting Halloween Costume
  6. Lobster Bunting Halloween Costume

Old Navy Baby

Since I’m not finding out what I’m having, I will admit that buying cute clothes for my future little cutie is a problem; however, you can bet your a%$ that as soon as this baby comes, I’ll be ordering attire from Old Navy…look how cute these little winter outfits are!

  1. Jersey-lined jeans
  2. Waffle-knit henley
  3. Rib-knit quilted vest
  4. Jersey-lined embroidered jeans
  5. Puff-sleeve bodysuit
  6. Sparkle-trim sweater

The Latest Distraction

I have a two year old and dinners out can be challenging to say the least.  I mean you want to go out to dinner so that you don’t have to cook every single night but at the same time you don’t want to go out so you can shovel the food in as fast as you can because the kiddo is DONE DONE DONE, mama DONE?

Enter our latest distraction, the Melissa & Doug Bead Maze!  The best part of this toy is that it has suction cups on the bottom.  I know some places this won’t work, but the places we frequent the most, it does.  So I thought I’d share what has been working for us lately.  Also, this ranges in age from 12months to 4 YEARS.  That’s almost crazy insane.

5 Things I Never Leave Home Without

Last week Susan at The Working Closet did a post entitled “5 Things I Never Leave Home Without“.  These are things that no matter where she’s going she never leaves home without them.  So it got me thinking…what would that be for me?  Some of the things she had on her list were on my list but some were also different.

  1. Hobo International Lauren Wallet-I think this is probably a given for most people but no matter what I am taking this with me because it houses a lot of the items below.  Mine isn’t yellow, it’s turquoise but alas I could not find that picture to show you.
  2. Bobbi Brown Cosmetics Lip Color in Slopes-I come from a long line of ladies that without a doubt never go out without lipstick on.  Even my grandma at 88 would always have her lipstick on at all times.  We seem a little crazy don’t we?  We aren’t, I promise…we only have a slight case of the crazies.  So anyway, this is my fall/winter color that I wear.  I get sorta attached to lipshades and tend to stick with one color for a long long time.
  3. My iPhone-Because I will never forget the time when I ran out of gas and didn’t have my cell phone with me and I had to ask the person in the car next to me if I could use their cell to call my husband.  Awful, on so many levels.  At this point, with an iPhone it is also a great toddler distractor as well.
  4. Patemm Pad-Because I have a toddler, I can’t ever leave home without diaper equipment.  This changing pad is the best changing pad ever and I’ve told you about it before. I love that this pad can also hold my diapers and wipes and has a handle for carrying.  The best part about this changing pad is that its round and no matter where your kiddo is flailing, the changing pad will generally guard them from the scariness that is public restrooms.  My particular style of Patemm is called the “Deke” which I don’t think they make anymore, but you can definitely find some cuteness on their site.
  5. Aquaphor Lip Balm-I can never put lipstick on without first putting a lip balm on and while I have been a devotee of the L’Occitane Shea Butter Lip Balm, it’s just too easy to pick up this Aquaphor Lip Balm at the grocery store or drug store.  It also works well in a mini manicure situation on your cuticles.

So tell me, what 5 things do you never leave home without?

Lighten Your Load

Over the weekend I attended a local craft show and picked up a little something that I think all new moms should consider. I haven’t even lifted my carseat carrier with an infant inside and it already hurts my arm. Enter Carseat Carrier Cushions! They have an array of different fabrics and colors on Etsy and these would make a totally rad shower gift too!

  1. Tangerine Dot
  2. Cute Camo
  3. Playful Paisley
  4. Footballs
  5. Black and Green Circles
  6. Cute Belle

Baby on Board

Well, get ready, because another Tipsy bambino is on the way! I am 14 weeks preggo and couldn’t feel better…except the first experience of NOT being able to button my jeans yesterday…our little one is due to make his or her appearance on March 8! (Oh yeah, and we’re leaning towards not finding out the sex of the baby, but I’ll keep you posted if we change our minds…)

I patiently waited to buy baby stuff until I was officially out of my first trimester, but this past weekend my Mom, Sis, and I went a little baby crazy and here are some of the goods we picked up:

  2. Praying Mantis Organic Onesie
  3. Duck Wooden Push Toy
  4. Gund Snuffles Bear (This is the exact same bear my sister drug around, and lost, throughout her childhood so she’s keeping the spirit alive with her niece or nephew.)
