Ring My Neck

I have a spring/summer staple in the form of a ring my neck style top. Yes, that’s the official term. You know what I’m talking about. It’s sorta like a halter, but not tying in the back. I must own a bajillion of them and I still keep my eye out for more and more. What can I say, I love what I love. I do have a stipulation though: It can NOT be form fitted… I like it flowing in the breeze. Do you have a go to style top for the warm weather?

Rad Plaid

With school starting soon, I get to thinking of plaid. I guess it’s the school uniform skirts, maybe. I never had to wear one for dress code purposes, but let me tell you I was once all over the Clueless trend back in the day.  Plaid looks to be making a come back, but in a much better way than a much too short pleated skirt.

Pretty Things at Every Price: Cocktail Dresses

So we’ve already done strapless dresses, maxi dresses, and now we’re onto cocktail dresses! If you have some place fancy to go in the next few months, we might have the frock for you…

  1. Der: One Shoulder Special Occasion Dress-I really like the Grecian style of this dress. I could totally see it jazzed up with some gold accessories and strappy heels. Also it sorta reminds me of a short version of my bridesmaid dresses, so maybe that’s why I love it. 🙂
  2. Court: The Chictopia Dress-First off, this is a GREAT price, not only on this dress, but on this site (they tend to run on the higher side for their adorable goods).  Second is its the LBD, can’t go wrong with that.  Love the waistline and could accessorize the hell outta this dress.
  3. AK: Georgette Dress-I’ve purchased a dress from this site before and it did not disappoint. They have great prices for some turbo cute dresses.  This is just one more cute dress that I’ve had my eye on for quite a while. I love the flower, I love the neckline and I love the COLOR, you know because I’m definitely a COLOR type of gal.
  4. Sarah: Antonio Melani “Ksenia” Dress-I LOVE this dress because of it’s fun colors, but it also has a very elegant cut, which would be perfect for a cocktail party!

Pretty Things At Every Price: Maxi Dresses

Last week we did strapless dresses and this week we are doing maxi dresses! And Sarah just talked about these recently as well. I think all of us Tipsy gals wear them except for Court because she’s a SHORTY.  I’m a semi shorty, so some maxi dresses I encounter drag the ground, but others work out just fine!

  1. Der-Maxi Halter Dress-This one is super cheap and is quite festive in color… which makes me love it more. Plus, I really like the semi-sweetheartish neckline.
  2. Court-A Walk in the Clouds Maxi-Love the pattern and from a store I absolutely love.  I think the concept of this dress is GREAT, but would be very interested to where this would fall on me.  It might drag the ground, even being as short as it is!  These dresses generally do that to me.
  3. AK-Ruffle Neck Maxi Dress-I love the ruffles (obvs) but I also love the criss-cross back.  I think there’s really nothing sexier than a criss-cross back on a gal.
  4. Sarah-Gianni Bini Logan Knit Dress-I LOVE the colors in this dress! (It makes me wish that I was on a tropical island somewhere…)

Burnt Out

AK has written about her eternal struggle for the perfect tshirt and I’m no expert on what’s perfect, but the softness of these vintage-y, burn out type tees is something to be coveted.

The Cover Up

I’m not generally a huge fan of getting in a bathing suit, so when I do, I gotta have a cover-up.  And seeing as how I might be in a swimsuit a little more this summer because my kiddo loves the hell out of the baby pool, I’m probably going to need a stylin’ cover-up.

  2. Dillards, Raisins Twisty Strap Coverup
  3. Macys, Ralph Lauren Darcy Tunic Coverup
  4. Victoria’s Secret, Terry Tiered empire dress

Groovy Baby

Tie dye seems to be dying to make a come back and I find myself actually wanting to take part in the trend. As long as we leave our mood rings and peace sign necklaces at home, I think we will be alright.

  2. C & C California, Tie Dye Striped Tank
  3. Motherhood Maternity, Faux Wrap Maternity Shirt

Coral For Everyone

If What Not To Wear has taught me anything.. it’s that coral is one of the most universally flattering colors on women. Coral is great paired with a splash of turquoise jewelry. It can be sophisticated with neutrals like khaki or gray and if you are brave enough, accent it with something yellow or lime.

Snazzed Up Towels

The last several years I’ve been a white towel kinda gal.  Shocking right?  Everything else I talk about is COLOR COLOR COLOR…but I got burned one time with some royal blue towels that shat all over my baseboards and anywhere else lint may fall.  I panicked and I went all white with my towels.  There is nothing like a big fluffy white towel.  But lately I’ve been seeing these patterned or textured towels and I’m being drawn to the dark side OR IS IT??
