Secret Stain Removal MAGIC
Ever had a tough stain that you just couldn’t get out? Fear no more because I have a process that will save your clothes from stain shame!
Cast of characters:
Step-by-Step Process:
Step 1: Tough stain (soy sauce).
Step 2: Sprinkle Oxi Clean all over the stained area.
Step 3: Spray the Oxi Clean with Shout to make a paste. Now, fold up the piece of clothing and forget about it. You can let this paste sit on the stain for as long as you would like, but I would wait a minimum of 24 hours before washing the item of clothing.
Step 4: Wash and view the MAGIC…BAM, stain gone and my favorite Texas Tech t-shirt is saved!
So Fresh and So Clean, Clean
So, it’s no secret to those who know me that I’m a clean FREAK!!! (Seriously, I sometimes have anxiety about it.) Here are my top cleaning products of the moment.
- Clorox Toilet Wand, Amazon: No more icky toilet brushes sitting in your bathroom. Once you’re finished cleaning the bowl, simply flush it!
- Clorox Anywhere Hard Surface, Amazon: I use this for almost everything. Any little spill or splatter out comes the Clorox spray.
- Sprayway Glass Cleaner, Amazon: The BEST glass cleaner ever. I have seriously gone from store to store before looking for this stuff. Luckily, Wal-Mart usually has it. This glass cleaner never leaves streaks!
- Goo Gone, Amazon: This is a recent love of mine and I’ll tell you why. I had the interior of my house re-painted in September and, much to my dismay, the painters accidentally got paint on my CARPET! So, after I discovered this I called my painters to, of course, complain and they told me not to do anything to it. The next morning they came over with Goo Gone and got it out in less than a minute: no stain, no wet spot, no smear, no nothing. So I went out and bought me some of this miracle product and have successfully used it over and over again to get hard-to-clean gunk or mud or smudge off of almost everything.
- Dirt Devil KURV Hand Vac, Target: Just a handy little gadget to have around so you don’t always have to lug out the big vac…
- Scrubbing Bubbles, Amazon: Standard bathroom cleaner, not too many miracles, other than it just melts the dirt away!
- Swifter Max, Amazon: I honestly believe that since the Swifter Max is double the size of the regular Swifter, I get finished mopping soooo much faster…this has not been proven, but I think it makes sense…
- Cascade 2 in 1 Action Packs, Amazon: Another time saver…no more putting Jet Dry or any other rinsing agent in your dishwasher!
***Any of these products can be purchased at your ordinary grocery or cleaning store.

Very Merry White Christmas!
For those of you who live anywhere near Central Texas, you probably experienced near blizzard conditions on Christmas Eve and a perfectly white Christmas Day, as did we! It was my first white Christmas EVER, and one that I’ll never forget. Here are a few of the goodies my husband and I picked up along the way…
- Lb Brewing Company Beer and T-Shirt: My mom got this for my husband and I thought it was a GREAT idea. She is from Kansas and stumbled upon this brewery on one of her excursions. His gift included this t-shirt and a gallon of their honey wheat beer…soooo good!
- TomTom Navigation System, Amazon: So, I guess my husband thinks I get lost a lot…?
- Restoration Hardware Gift Card: I LOVE this store!
- Vera Wang Perfume, Amazon: One smell and you’ll fall in love…
- Leupold Rifle Scope, Buy.com: This was my present to my husband, with help from my Dad, and he was excited/impressed!
- Chartreuse Fiestaware, MegaChina.com: I collect Fiestaware dishes and when I receive a hard to find, retired, color, it makes me smile.
- Old World Christmas Ornaments, oldworldchristmas.com: I also collect Old World Christmas ornaments and my Mom ALWAYS comes through with getting me new and interesting ornaments…I couldn’t believe she found an Old World sushi roll!!!
- LG Front-load Washer and Dryer, Sears: So, Santa may have come a couple weeks early with this one, but that doesn’t mean my husband didn’t remind me a bagillion times what he got me for Christmas…
I hope everyone had Happy Holidays and have a great New Year!

This Taco Soup recipe is easy, fast, and you probably have these ingredients in your pantry right now!
- Step 1: Brown 1 pd. of hamburger meat and add taco seasoning according to package directions.
- Step 2: In either a crock pot or a stove-top pot, combine the remaining ingredients.
- Step 3. Allow the soup to simmer on the stove-top OR leave it in the crock pot for as long as you’d like.

This soup only gets better the longer it sits, and it’s even better the second day…a perfect “fix it and forget it” meal!
Haircare for the Redken Obsessed!
In keeping with the tradition of the Tipsy ladies, I wanted to share the products that I use on a semi-daily basis. You may notice a common theme: I’m OBSESSED w/ all things Redken! (I blame this on my friend Kelli, whose family owns a Redken distribution center close to my home town, and I also blame it on the fact that I tend to have OCD when it comes to specific brands.)
Anyway, my hair is thick and wavy, I always wear it straight, and these products do the trick! (All of which can be found on Amazon.com.)
- Redken Allsoft Heavy Cream: I use this as my deep conditioning treatment. About once every week or two, I leave it in for 10 minutes or so and then rinse out.
- Redken Smooth Down Heat Glide: This is a daily pre-styling treatment that I use on the ends of my hair before blow drying. It seems to help with the AWFUL amount of heat my CHI iron puts out.
- Redken Vinyl Glam: I use this every other day, because I only wash my hair every other day. (So this is a first hair wash product.) I spray it in my hands, not directly on my hair, then smooth it through my tresses…haha…it really does make your hair look shiny, not the dirty/oily shiny, but movie-star shiny!
- Redken Extreme Conditioner: What can I say? It’s conditioner…it smells good and does the trick…I stick to what I know!
- Redken Guts: This stuff came out when I was in high school and was ALL the rage. It’s spray mousse and gives you ALL kinds of volume. Since I have thick hair, I don’t really use it for volume, but I do use it when I wear my hair wavy…it just gives it that extra umph (is that a word?) that I need.
- Redken Workforce Flexible Volumizing Spray: LOVE, LOVE this hair spray! It keeps my hair in check without making it feel crunchy, which is the WORST don’t you think?
- Redken Fresh Curls Curl Boost: For all my curly/wavy headed ladies out there this product is for you, maybe…I use it when I’m wearing my hair wavy and I like the fact that it’s not heavy and it doesn’t leave my hair frizzy…so, win win!
- Redken Extreme Shampoo: This is my Redken shampoo for the moment, and I like that it repairs damaged hair. Even though I don’t like to think of my hair as damaged, I think years of daily heat treatments will take a toll on anyone/everyone’s hair.
- David Babaii Bohemian Beach Spray: NEWSFLASH, this is not Redken! This is a new product that I was just recently introduced to, but so far I LOVE! I just spray it in my hair after I’m finished fixing it and it gives a super-cute textured/messy kind of look.
