Christmas Wishlist: AK Edition

I had sort of a hard time thinking about what I would want for Christmas this year….insane right? Last year I went to town on a dream list and this year I could barely come up with a  realistic list!! What’s wrong with me!!  So here’s my short list of goodies I’d love, I’ve left off boring things like new towels, a new duvet cover and a new set of drinking glasses…I didn’t want you to fall asleep while browsing!

  1. Ultrasonic Jewelry Cleaner, Brookstone-My mom has one similar to this and it gets the job done.  Kind of a set it and forget it kind of jewelry cleaner.
  2. Present Day Pearl Hoops, Sundance-These are fantastic and would be a great go with everything type of earring.
  3. Jackie Cardigan, J.Crew-I love this cardigan and have it in a few colors thanks to the outlet near my house.  I could sure use it in cerise, navy or dried parsley.
  4. Travel Envelope, Abas Accessories-I end up having a ton of paper stuff free flowing in my purse and I’d love a leather envelope to keep it in.  This would fit the bill!
  5. Michele Silicon Watch Strap, Nordstrom-I have a Michele watch and would LOVE a silicon band…any color would do but this green sure is fun!
  6. Iced Blueberry Ring, Lolo’s Rings-I have a ring from this story and have been eyeing this one ever since.
  7. PixelSkin for iPhone, Speck-I need a new case and I’m loving this green one.

Stud Muffin

Der did a post a while back on stud earrings and I felt like I needed to revisit the theory of less is more in the earring arena.  I’ve been gravitating towards studs lately because they sure are easy to wear.  Do you wear studs often? Do you go through phases?  I think I go through phases with studs FO SHO. And right now these are striking my fancy.

Fabulous Footwear Friday

I have a rule about my toes not being covered during summer… I don’t like my feet to sweat. That’s like my own personal hell. I would almost make an exception for these summery flats. ALMOST. Wouldn’t they be just adorable with some cuffed jeans!

Tipsy Favs: Jeans

Tipsy gals are here again to weigh in on our fav jeans.  Here’s our picks and our comments as to why they hug in all the right places.

  1. Sarah: Seven for All Mankind Bootcut Stretch Jeans: I like these jeans because they’re a) long enough to wear with boots or heels for my 5′ 11″ frame, b) curvy enough to fit my booty well,  and c) expensive enough that I have to cherish the one pair I own! 🙂
  2. Der:  Levis 537s Description Der found that she say is perfect: The Levi’s 537 Flare Jean is a classic Levi’s style. The soft heavy feel of the denim and five pocket styling are the perfect combination. The 537 is built to withstand all of the wear and tear that you can dish. Der’s description 🙂 : I feel like they hug all the right places and look great dressed up or down. BUT, I have the HARDEST time locating them. I had to buy my last pair off ebay because I couldn’t find ANY stores that sell them. BIG BUMMER. In fact, the only pic I could find is on ebay so if your a lucky size 8…snatch these UP!
  3. AK:  Joes Jean’s are my fav “going out” jeans somehow these jeans make my butt and thighs look a little smaller than they really are.  Maybe its the pocket placement or the seam placement but they are definitely worth the price to make things in the mirror smaller than they appear.  Levi 515s are my fav “knock around” jeans.  I’ve had a pair of these for a good 10-12 years and they are my go-to slouch-o-rama, weekend jeans.  They’re like butta.
  4. Court:  Old Navy Sweetheart These jeans hold up in harsh washing conditions, keep their color and don’t loose their boot cut leg which helps to balance out my curvy figure.

Ladies all shapes, sizes, and budgets–let us know what your favs are.

Products On A Stick

The Rodeo just ended here in Houston which generally means I would have been stuffing my piehole with sausage on a stick, mountains of curly fries, Goode Co. chicken sandwiches, maybe 1 or 4 funnel cakes.  Alas we did not make it out there, at least not in the sense that we normally do…we went to the petting zoo but that was about it.  So no food this year for me!  What’s better than Sausage on a Stick? Products on a Stick!!  Anybody tried any of these?

But It’s Just A Pair Of Shoes?!

So generally this is what happens with me…I’m surfing the interwebs and find a pair of shoes I like.  I open them up to view all angles and what not and I’m like yep, those are good, those are really cute, those are actually super cute…yeah I’m gonna go ahead and get those.  Close that window, pick my size, look at the price and then FAINT.  I mean wow, what did they have to do to make those shoes that they would be THAT expensive?  And it’s like they aren’t even like oh those are just a little overpriced, it’s like WOW those are like $200+ half the time.

So these are some of the shoes I’ve seen recently where I’ve just about fallen out of my chair.  The only pair under $100 are the black sandals, but it’s kinda like um wow don’t I have some black sandals? Do I need to spend $70 something on a pair of black sandals?  So anyway, please enjoy…I’ll be right here finding some more unattainable shoes.
