Party Time: Not Your Average Vase

I have this vase.  It’s awesome, I love it.  It was gifted to my husband and I for our wedding.  It’s unusual and just the right height, and just makes the perfect little arrangement.  I wish I had a couple more.

When I have little get togethers at our house, I love to buy fresh flowers and make little arrangements here and there.  I generally don’t have enough vases, so in classic MacGyver style I use drinking glasses.  I’ve got these pewter goblets for fancier soirees and for the laid back fiestas I use my recycled SOL glasses.

Sooooo we weren’t really planning on doing this sort of thing, but we had many many requests via The Working Closet Flickr Pool.  So we thought what the heck. Why not.  The original idea came from the want for J. Crew ruffleness or flowers and life getting in the way.  So we thought, why couldn’t we make something like that?  We’re crafty!  And then the CrafTEE was born and a tutorial was requested.  After the tutorial, some people asked for an Etsy shop because they weren’t crafty.  And so ShopTipsy was born in the hopes of making the world a better place, one ruffle and one flower at a time.

The Best Changing Pad EVER!

Have you heard of this changing pad?  Dude, it’s SO THE BOMB!  It’s called a Patemm Pad and its round.  It folds up, it holds diapers, it holds wipes, it has a carrying handle so you can grab it and run out the door and you have everything you need for a quick trip.  It also fits perfectly in my Skip Hop Duo Deluxe diaper bag.

I’m telling you this changing pad will change your life.  I have this thing about public restrooms….you know like they are just feces infested germ caves..nothing major.  So when I have to change my child, the same child that squirms relentlessly during diaper changes, I’m always a little freaked about doing it in public because I just know his poor delicate baby skin might touch filth.  Well not with this changing pad I tell you!  You can just unfold it and part of the circle protects your kiddo from the evil backside of the flip out changing table and the other part of the circle is underneath.  PERFECT!  Now if I could just get that other kid to stop sneezing in our direction–pardon the glare I’m giving you as I shield my child, while cleaning my hands with Purell.

La Virgen de Guadalupe (that means THE Virgen de Guadalupe)

That’s my husband’s favorite joke…”Do you know what La Cocina means?…THE Cocina”…followed by much laughter.  Hey, his joke not mine.  So I couldn’t resist when writing up this post.

If you live in Texas, the Virgin of Guadalupe is probably a sight you’ve seen many times.  I’m not Catholic but I love the colors and stars and everything about the image.  My aunt has these boots and they are AMAZING and I may or may not need to steal them from her closet.

I Need Cardigan Anonymous

Hi, I’m addicted to cardigans.  I have a lot of cardigans.  One of the things that has fueled my addiction to cardigans is buying solid colors to ensure that I can wear them with as many outfits as possible.  What I’m seeing is that a cardigan can in fact be an accessory now what with all the ruffles, embroidery, stripes and prints available.  I need help, this has opened a whole new world for me.

Etsy Spotlight: Lo Lo’s Rings

Rings!  I LOVE bright funky rings!  One funky ring can add just the pop of color an outfit needs.  I was just browsing Etsy one day…like I do every most days.  Shut up, everyone does it. Wait. What? You don’t browse Etsy EVERYDAY??  Loser.  So anyway, I ran across Lo Lo’s Rings and fell in love with the Crabby Patties Ring.  You would not believe what I can wear this ring with…ALOT, trust me.  Lo Lo’s Rings are super comfy because they have elastic cords for the band.  I’ve been eyeing the Iced Blueberry Ring for a while…which one are you going after?
