Chocolate Fix

I am not generally a chocolate person. I don’t like chocolate ice cream, chocolate pudding, chocolate cake, or plain chocolate candy (gotta have some nuts or something in it 🙂 ) But I LOVE brownies. If you put a pan of brownies in front of me, I guarantee you I will eat the whole pan more than one. Needless to say I don’t get brownies often. But I have discovered the answer to my chocolate prayers.  I found these at my local HEB (grocery store here in Texas) and they solve my dilemma quite nicely. Real brownie pieces in a 100 calorie pouch. Just enough to quiet my craving but not enough to expand my waistline.  Not to mention they taste soooo good…

Fabulous Footwear Friday

Everybody and their mom has heard of Toms. They pretty much are the most comfortable shoes ever, even if they are not always the most attractive (some of them look like ace bandages wrapped around your feet). I was browsing the website recently and I came across these… I could not believe my eyes! Toms makes wedges now!! I can only imagine how comfortable these are.  Now I know they are a little pricey, but remember that for every pair you buy, the company will donate a pair to a child in need.  So really you are buying 2 pairs, plus you get to do a good deed while shopping 🙂

$50 Friday: A Night On The Town

This whole outfit came to be because of the shoes. I love love LOVE them, and I love their price tag. They would be perfect for a night out on the town, whether it be a date night,  just a girls night, or even a wedding. And you can’t go wrong with the classic red & black color combo…

Fast Flats

I love a pair of cute heels as much as the next girl. I cannot count the number of times I have gotten dressed to go out and put on a pair of sexy high heels to finish off my perfect outfit. Fast-forward to the end of the night, and the only thought in my head is “What the HELL were you thinking??”.  Those things, as cute and sexy as they may be, are killer on your feet. Especially if you are doing anything more than sitting for long periods of time. Enter the Dr Scholl’s For Her Fast Flats. These cute little ballet flats fold up and fit in a tiny pouch you keep in your purse, so when those feet start hurting you can bust out a pair of flats and let the night roll on.

The Burts and The Bees

I know that I am not the only girl out there who does not like lip gloss. Although I like the color options it gives me, I am not a fan of the stickiness of it.  I am a chapstick girl. Always have been, always will be. Enter Burt’s Bees Lip Shimmer. It combines the color options and shiny look of a lip gloss with the minty taste and healing capabilities of Burt’s Bees chapstick. Without being sticky. This is one of those items that I will have with me at all times, no matter what I am doing. Peony is my current fav…

A word to the wise: I have learned from personal experience that dogs, especially those of the wiener variety, LOVE the taste of Burt’s Bees products, be it lip shimmer or chapstick. I have lost many a tube to wiener dogs in the past. And yes, they will raid your purse to get it, its that good.

To In-Vest or Not To In-Vest?

Okay ladies, I need some opinions here. If you haven’t already noticed, faux fur vests seem to be a big trend for the fall. I think they are so cute, but part of me is hesitant to purchase one for the following reason:  I can’t decide if I would

A) Look like an idiot because I live in south Texas (even though I wouldn’t wear it until it actually gets cold)
B) Look like I am trying to be a Viking
C) Look totally adorable

What do you think?

  1. Target,  Merona Collection Lisa Faux Fur Vest
  2. New York and Company, Faux Fur Vest
  3. Forever 21, Cozy Faux Fur Vest
  4. Forever 21, Faux Fur Vest w/ Bow Belt
  5. Papaya, Ivory Rib Fur Vest
  6. Charlotte Russe, Luxe Fur Vest

$50 Friday: Mad About Plaid

Plaid has been a big trend lately and it is going to stay that way for the fall. I love how it can make an outfit look very chic and simple at the same time. That, my friends, is right up my alley. As is this outfit…

  1. Papaya, Checkered Shirring Cotton Shirt
  2. Forever 21, Saddle Stitch Skinny Jean
  3. Forever 21, Two Piece Mod Hoops
  4. Papaya, Anna Button Shaped Ankle Boot

Birthday Wishlist

There are so many things in this world that I would love to have but a) will never buy for myself, and b) could not afford right now even if I did want to buy them. That, my friends, is the beauty of a birthday, and mine is right around the corner. Here are some items that are on my birthday wish list this year…

  1. Macy’s,  Keurig B60 Coffee Maker, Single Serve : This might be one of the greatest kitchen appliance I have ever used. For anybody who drinks a cup or 2 of coffee every day but not a whole pot, this is the perfect gift. No more cleaning a coffee pot. Ever again.
  2. Overstock.com, KitchenAid 5 Speed Blender : Yes I want a blender for my birthday. And yes, it has to be this color.
  3. Victoria’s Secret, Motorcycle Jacket : I love this jacket. Every time I get a Victoria’s Secret catalog in the mail I drool over it.
  4. Old Navy, Women’s Sliver Wedge Boots: I really want some tall, flat boots in this camel color for the fall, and these are super cute without a super high price tag.
  5. Amazon, Mikasa Cheers Too 16-ounce White Wine Glasses :  I got the original Mikasa Cheers white wine glasses as a graduation gift and would love to have the full set.
  6. Target, Sex and the City 2 I loved the show and I love this movie. It was even better than the last one. I have the entire series on DVD as well as the first movie, so I need to complete my collection 🙂
  7. Amazon, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse : Although it is not available yet, I am holding out hope it will be here by my birthday. I am a Twi-hard, what can I say.
  8. Target, Tom Tom XL 340T GPS : I will be the first to admit that my sense of direction sucks. When I eventually leave the small college town I currently live in, a GPS for my car will be a must have.
  9. Reebok,  RunTone Action Shoes : I just recently started running and I really want a pair of these shoes.  Who doesn’t want their butt to look better?
  10. Direct From Mexico, Large Thick Talavera Cross : a) I love all things Mexican (especially food and decor), and b) I collect crosses

Oh and one more thing…

Chocolate Brown Wiener Dog

A brother or sister for Lily 🙂

Smoothie On A Stick

That’s right, you heard me.  Now I don’t usually buy Weight Watcher’s products, because most of the food items are a little pricey for me. But these Weight Watcher’s Strawberry Smoothie Low Fat Yogurt Bars are DA bomb, and are worth every penny. They literally taste like a smoothie on a stick, and at a mere 50 calories a bar, you can’t beat that.
