Color Me Happy

Court introduced me to some different kinds of crayons.  I got to searching for some options besides your average Crayola box and found some awesome alternatives.  My son is now in possession of #1 and I can tell you he loves them.  He would also like to add that he doesn’t think they taste very good, but they work well in his Toy Story coloring book.

Cinco de Cuatro

A few years back we had a Cinco de Mayo party, that’s Spanish for Cinco de May.  Anywho, I think Cinco de Mayo fell on the wrong partying day and so we ended up celebrating on Cuatro de Mayo and somehow in the planning stages people became confused and started calling it the Cinco de Cuatro party.  It stuck.  We had a blast.

The following items are staples for a successful Cinco de Cuatro party:

  1. Amazon, Burro Pinata
  2. Amazon, Fiesta Fun Party Maracas
  3. Amazon, Guac Off
  4. Amazon, Chili Pepper Lights
  5. Amazon, Sombrero
  6. Amols, Mexican Guitar

Baby Name Game

Trying to decide on baby names with my husband goes a little something like this:

  • Me: Oh, I like (insert cute name here)! How about that?
  • Husband: Hell no.
  • Me: But, why? Why don’t you like it?
  • Husband: I don’t know, I just don’t. I’ll know it when I hear it.
  • Me: Ok, well, are there any names that you like?
  • Husband: No, just keeping naming them and I’ll just tell you when I hear one I like.
  • Me: (use every ounce of energy I have left not to slap husband around)

So, I have been relying on reading pages upon pages of baby name books to get inspiration and these are the best ones that I have found.

  1. Amazon, Beyond Jennifer & Jason, Madison & Montana: What to Name Your Baby Now –  this is the newer version that haven’t read yet
  2. Amazon, The Baby Name Wizard
  3. Amazon, Baby Names Now: From Classic to Cool

  5. Amazon, The Complete Idiot’s Guide to 40,000 Baby Names

Tipsy Favs: Mascara

Time for a another weigh in.  Mascara.  This is something I hold near and dear to my heart.  Or something I accidentally poke my eye with and ensure the worst.pain.known.to.a.woman.

Here we go….

Sarah:  SpectacuLash® Mascara (Black) I like this mascara because it gives me the long, thick, eyelashes I want, without ever being too clumpy.

Der:  Loreal Voluminous Mascara This is one of the only makeup products that I repeatedly buy. I like plump, black lashes and this is the best drug store mascara that I have found for that affect. Also, the makeup artist that I hired on my wedding day…. showed up with this mascara in her bag of tricks, so it must be good 🙂

AK:  Maybelline Lash Stilleto It’s not goopy and clumpy and it separates my lashes perfectly!  And it actually comes off as opposed to sticking to your lashes for days on end.

Court:  Loreal Telescopic Definition Lengthening I’ve tried almost every new mascara that comes out and I always end up sticking to this.  I love the comb like brush, even though you better learn to use it and learn to use it fast.  Lets just say combing through caked on lashes doesn’t end up with the neatest look.  However, don’t let that scare you gals, once you get the hang of it this mascara never fails to provide clean, defined, long lashes that really pop.

Easter Candy!

When I crack open those plastic Easter eggs on Easter morning, this is what I hope I find!

  1. Amazon, Sour Patch Jelly Beans-Der gave me the heads up on these because she knows I’m a huge addict fan of Sour Patch kids and man o man are these good!
  2. Amazon, Reeses Peanut Butter Egg-One of these has been in my Easter basket every year of my life.  Easter would not be the same without one.
  3. Amazon, Cherry Sours-nope not even remotely Easter but its a Cherry Sour?! Who is going to turn one away.  You do need candy to put in some of those other plastic eggs-COME ON?! And yes that link is to a 10lb case. What.
  4. Candy Warehouse, SweeTarts Chicks Ducks Bunnies-SweeTarts are right up there in my fav category and I love when I see a little SweeTart bunny!!
  5. Amazon, Cadbury Eggs-My all time favorite of these would be the Cadbury Chocolate Creme Filled Egg but I haven’t seen one in any store in TWO YEARS.  What happened? Are they not making the chocolate creme filled anymore???

Easter Bunny is Coming to Town

So, Easter is always a neat time of the year.  Church, hidden plastic eggs filled with money, and family.  That all makes sense right?

Seriously though, I love scoping out goodies for my son, Austin’s, basket.  Check it out (rated: 7-year-old boy).

  1. Pocket Bunny– handmade and adorable.  Love it.
  2. Bunny Crayons – I love seeing something as simple as crayons in a shape like a bunny to celebrate the day.
  3. Soccer Easter Basket – for my little future Pelé.
  4. Travel Battelship – these types of things are great for going on trips, around the house with out the clutter and just to have when he spends the night at a friends.  Austin has really gotten into Risk lately.  Anyone seen an updated or travel version of Risk?
  5. Peeps – ‘nough said.
  6. Venus Fly Trap Kit – has anyone been watching the new series on the Discovery Channel, Life?  Well, its great, Aus and I really love watching it together and it makes it totally rational to give my son a Venus Fly Trap for Easter.
  7. Indoor Boomerang – I always kick myself in the ass for toys like this.  But, an indoor boomerang?  Pretty sure we need to test it just to make sure it WON’T break things.
  8. Giant LED Flashlight – Aus has a million flashlights, but the LED and the size makes this one even cooler.
