I’m Puzzled

I think these little gems are the coolest things.  I think they can act as a fun, functional hiding places for some of your more precious items.  Some of these boxes take 5, 10 and sometimes up to 20 different moves to merely open them.

  1. 10 Step Japanese Puzzle
  2. Indian Cat Puzzle
  3. Keepsake Puzzle Box – I own one almost identical to this, love it.  Fun to just disassemble and reassemble.
  4. 3 Step Polish Box
  5. Large Celtic Design Secret Box
  6. 4 Step Japanese Box
  7. 5 Move Morrocan Box

Tipsy Favs: Jeans

Tipsy gals are here again to weigh in on our fav jeans.  Here’s our picks and our comments as to why they hug in all the right places.

  1. Sarah: Seven for All Mankind Bootcut Stretch Jeans: I like these jeans because they’re a) long enough to wear with boots or heels for my 5′ 11″ frame, b) curvy enough to fit my booty well,  and c) expensive enough that I have to cherish the one pair I own! 🙂
  2. Der:  Levis 537s Description Der found that she say is perfect: The Levi’s 537 Flare Jean is a classic Levi’s style. The soft heavy feel of the denim and five pocket styling are the perfect combination. The 537 is built to withstand all of the wear and tear that you can dish. Der’s description 🙂 : I feel like they hug all the right places and look great dressed up or down. BUT, I have the HARDEST time locating them. I had to buy my last pair off ebay because I couldn’t find ANY stores that sell them. BIG BUMMER. In fact, the only pic I could find is on ebay so if your a lucky size 8…snatch these UP!
  3. AK:  Joes Jean’s are my fav “going out” jeans somehow these jeans make my butt and thighs look a little smaller than they really are.  Maybe its the pocket placement or the seam placement but they are definitely worth the price to make things in the mirror smaller than they appear.  Levi 515s are my fav “knock around” jeans.  I’ve had a pair of these for a good 10-12 years and they are my go-to slouch-o-rama, weekend jeans.  They’re like butta.
  4. Court:  Old Navy Sweetheart These jeans hold up in harsh washing conditions, keep their color and don’t loose their boot cut leg which helps to balance out my curvy figure.

Ladies all shapes, sizes, and budgets–let us know what your favs are.

I <3 Pop Culture T's

It’s true, I think nothing gives honor to a hilarious saying or youtube video like memorializing it on a t-shirt forever.  These are some I love and I thought you all needed to see for a good laugh.

  2. We’ll Do it Live!

Easter Bunny is Coming to Town

So, Easter is always a neat time of the year.  Church, hidden plastic eggs filled with money, and family.  That all makes sense right?

Seriously though, I love scoping out goodies for my son, Austin’s, basket.  Check it out (rated: 7-year-old boy).

  1. Pocket Bunny– handmade and adorable.  Love it.
  2. Bunny Crayons – I love seeing something as simple as crayons in a shape like a bunny to celebrate the day.
  3. Soccer Easter Basket – for my little future Pelé.
  4. Travel Battelship – these types of things are great for going on trips, around the house with out the clutter and just to have when he spends the night at a friends.  Austin has really gotten into Risk lately.  Anyone seen an updated or travel version of Risk?
  5. Peeps – ‘nough said.
  6. Venus Fly Trap Kit – has anyone been watching the new series on the Discovery Channel, Life?  Well, its great, Aus and I really love watching it together and it makes it totally rational to give my son a Venus Fly Trap for Easter.
  7. Indoor Boomerang – I always kick myself in the ass for toys like this.  But, an indoor boomerang?  Pretty sure we need to test it just to make sure it WON’T break things.
  8. Giant LED Flashlight – Aus has a million flashlights, but the LED and the size makes this one even cooler.

Rock on

I think it was seeing two of my favorite bands, Muse and Silversun Pickups that got me in the mood for this post.  I absolutely love going to concerts.  I have a great concert schedule lined up with Ben this summer and I really can’t wait.  As a tribute to all things that rock, check out these items.

  1. Guitar  Spatula
  2. Muse Carpenter Headphones – I saw these and thought they were for true music lovers.  This site has some really modern twists on the average earbud.
  3. Ipod Hoodie – are you kidding me?  Did someone read my mind and all things I HEART before they decided to design this.  Honestly, I see no real functional purpose for this, but love the hell out of  it.
  4. Recycled Vinyl Coasters –  too cute.  Also, this site where I found these is too neat.
  5. Ticket Diary – who keeps every.single.ticket.stub?  I do and I think this is the perfect place to store these babies and give them the attention they deserve.
  6. Owl Ipod Case – owls are everywhere now, but I swear AK was ahead of that trend.  This ones for you AK!
  7. Guitar Picture Frame – I think a pic of Ben and I at our fav concert would be perfect in this.  Plus, love the original look and feel.
  8. Music Necklace – simple and love the purple.

Spruce Up Those Pet Bowls

I am an animal lover through and through, but I also love keeping the house nice and tidy.  I started looking at some new and trendy pet bowls and was amazed.  Had to share.

  1. Dogleg Diner
  2. Twin Bowls
  3. Three Bowl Server – thought this would be great for Der’s three weenies, Zoe, Luca, and Mia.
  4. Wild Rock Bowl
  5. Skate Bowls
  6. Foldable Bowldog
  7. Zen Bowl
  8. Deli Dome – interactive food and treat dispenser for your favorite kittah.  Whaaaa???

Summa Summa Summa Time

Its right around the corner and that means we need to get started with all of outdoor decor.  Just like all of the Tipsy Girls, I love to have people over and to entertain.  Being that I just moved into a new abode and am really focused on my outdoor scenery, I’ve been doing a lot of searching to spruce up the outside decor at my casa.

Here’s my top ten:

  1. Ceramic Beverage Dispensers – These are a very simple and colorful way to hold sun tea or your favorite summer cocktail.
  2. Bamboo Chairs – Bamboo, outdoor chairs.  Do I have to explain myself again?  This.is.so.me. I Also like this look because they are resilient and versatile AND bamboo is extremely durable (bamboo is stronger than lots of steel…whaaa?)
  3. Outdoor Votive Holder – They are on my to do list.  So simple, so affordable.
  4. Rain Chain Buckets -These are actually designed to adorn unsightly drains on your the outside of your home.  I also thought they would also work well hanging from a porch or patio.
  5. Side Table – I just purchased some cheap as hell discounted Adirondack chairs from Big Lots and am looking for some side tables to spruce these chairs up.  I may have found the answer here.  Hopefully LLBean will decide to have an LLClearance soon:).
  6. Glazed Fire Pot -This thing is mine and awesome. ‘Nough said.
  7. Smart Solar Sphere – I love these solar powered gadgets.  They know when to come on and off and they recharge themselves.  Can’t get any better than that!
  8. Solar Powered House Numbers – A lot of us have house numbers on the street, mailbox, house, lawn.  But these really caught my eye.  These have solar powered LEDs that you program with your street number and place where you please.  TOO COOL.
  9. Hanging Lanterns – If those don’t make the cut for outside, they are cute enough to go on my nightstand.  Love the colors.
  10. Coca Cola Light Set – Such a fun and classic touch to any area outside.  And did I mention cheap?

So, everyone at my place tomorrow?

Chinese Laundry, Need I Say More?

I have always loved this brand for their quirky styles.  Booty lifters, flats, sandals, wedges.  They have it all and when I find a store that carries it they generally catch my eye.

I will also confess that my eyes were caught (hook line and sinker) when I found these stripper heels by Chinese Laundry babies at a garage sale this weekend for 3 dollars!  Wore them today and not only was I four inches taller, I was 4 more units of BADASS.

Heres some of picks from their latest line:

  1. Citrus
  2. Shantel
  3. Bobbi
  4. Malini
  5. Cool it
  6. Morocco
  7. Chat

Nothing can beat my 3.00 find at the garage sale; however, Chinese Laundry’s prices are very conservative–I am talking UNDER 50.00!  Woot Woot!

I Just Wrote To Say I Love You

American penmanship is becoming extinct, so I think its so nice to either get or give a handwritten card every now and again.  These little keepsakes are adorable:

  1. Congratulations  Flower Card by Artecnica
  2. Happy Birthday Flower Card by Artecnica
  3. Bravo Cartolina Cards
  4. Salatiga Note Cards
  5. Bird Letter Press Cards
  6. Thank You Seed Cards – instead of throwing the card away, you plant it and watch it grow!  Too cool.
  7. Twin Kittens Letterpress Postcard
  8. Set of 8 Emergency Cards

Drug Store Finds: Crazy Hair Lady Edition

I mentioned some time before that I love to switch it up with my hair products.  Just when I think I have my crispation (its a real word, look it up!)  tamed, they pull a number on me and send me searching for the next best thing.

Let me remind you though, next best thing for me generally means three, always three products. The trifecta, if you will.  And generally drugstore, under 5 dollars each, something that I don’t feel guilty about when I’m over it.

I present to you my flavor of the month:

  1. No Frizz Creme
  2. Flawless Curl Mousse
  3. Curl Locking Spray

Do a tad of number 1, a little more of 2 and finish with a light spritz of 3.
