Hump Day Happy Hour: My Fav Bubbly

I found it.  After searching long and hard and giving every single kind of sparkling wine a fair and equal chance, I found it! My favorite bubbly.

I have not a clue how to pronounce it.  But I do know its less that 10 dollars at most grocery stores, its crisp and clean.  If you like sparkling wines, this is a sure bet.

Shower de Sarah

We thought we’d share a few pics from the baby shower we helped throw for Sarah and her hubby over the weekend.  Sarah and Kynn have decided to not find out if they are having a boy or girl ahead of time so we had to stick with a strictly gender neutral shower.  Dr. Seuss was the answer!  We couldn’t possibly get all the decor in these shots but hoooo boy was it cute!

We had Seuss cookies and cupcakes and Seuss themed flowers and Red Fish and Blue Fish…and the list goes on and on!  Instead of a sign in book, we had everyone sign in on a copy of “Oh, The Places You’ll Go”.  Throughout the house we used Seuss books and stuffed Seuss characters as decor.  We also played two games: Baby Animal Matchathon and Baby Price is Right.  Definitely fun games as they were both a bit challenging.  All in all I think everyone had fun and Sarah and Kynn got a ton of very cute baby stuff.  Congrats to Sarah & Kynn! Can’t wait to meet the new addition!!

Christmas in Review: Court

Man o Man does Ben Santa really have my number.  Here’s a few of my favorite items that I raked in this holiday!

  1. Better Home and Garden Patio Furniture Set – Mimi and PawPaw gave this to both Ben and I.  I can’t wait to have some friends and family over to enjoy this set.  It’s fits perfect with my decor.
  2. Fortune Cookie Soap – these things are too cute.  They actually all have a paper fortune in there, but are the perfect accent for my guest bathroom.
  3. Cat Necklace – since I’ve been banned by Ben and the city I believe from obtaining another kittah, Ben got me this.  I absolutely adore it!
  4. I CAN HAZ Calendar – this is actually the first year they printed these.  Looks great on my office wall.

I’ll tell you where I didn’t hit it big and that was the lotto tix in Aus, Ben and my stockings.  Of all the tickets we scratched we won $2 collectively! Everything else made up for it though.

New Years Survey: Court

I realized that I didn’t even do this last year 🙂  Must have been swamped!  Here goes…..

1. What did you do in 2010 that you’d never done before?

Hung off the side of the Stratosphere in Vegas.

2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

Yes and no.  There was nothing official.  I will for sure make more this year.

Hard one, I am very happy with my life.  Possibly no car payment.

7. What dates from 2010 will be etched upon your memory, and why?

Ben and I moved in together after dating for a few years.  That was very special.  Aus made honor roll more times that I can remember.  All of those days were very special to me.  Aus had a great season in soccer and showed his drive and ambition at each game.  I was so proud.

8. What was your biggest achievement of this year?

Leaving a job that I had been at for a very, very long time.  Moving into a role and company that was unknown, but ultimately allowed me to be happier and be treated with respect.

Sideline, Soccer Momming at Austin’s games.  I had the time of my life watching him play.

This is hard, cause we’ve been to so many concerts.  I love Pheonix’s Love Like a Sunset.  I think that can pretty much sum it all up.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you: a) happier or sadder? b) thinner or fatter? c) richer or poorer?

a) Happier

Great son and boyfriend and 4 cats.  Love that I have a little unit that I adore.  No present can compare to that.

Working on a budget this year for Christmas?  Have some stuff to buy for folks that are special to you, but don’t want to break the bank doing it?

I’ve got a few cute ideas here, a lot of them center around eating.  Not sure what that says, but loving on these afforable options to show those special people you care this holiday season.

  1. Cheese Tray with Cutter – cute thing about this is that nifty little cutter.  All in one, perfectness.
  2. Wine Chiller – perfect for entertaining or a night alone!
  3. Beer Glasses – what dude doesn’t a set of beer glasses made from recycled windshields?
  4. Condiment Dish with Stand – everything about this is so cute.
  5. Tyler Candle – great gift for any lovely lady on your list.  Their scents are so unique and they last forever.
  6. Stoneware Vase – girls can’t have enough vases, very similar to our love for shoes.

That’s a Wrap

Do you know anyone who has all their gifts wrapped and ready?  I know the type, if thats you, you are my hero.

I personally haven’t even started but find that acquiring the paper, bows and labels to wrap all the goodies in can be just as fun as the gifts themselves.  I’m currently in love with the selection at the paper-source.com.

  1. Santa Hat Dogs
  2. Greetings Circle Stickers
  3. Penguins
  4. Polar Bear Stickers
  5. Red Dot Bags
  6. Moss Flourish

Holiday Gift Guides: 8 Year Old Boys

Have an 8 year old boy?  Buying for an 8 year old boy?  Just want to know what the hell they are droolin’ over this year?  I have an IN with my special little man, Austin, and this is his 9th Christmas and sure to be kick ass.

  1. Moon Shoes – remember these babies?  Theeeiiirrr back and on Aus’ Christmas list.  I’m  just worried for when he asks mommy to give these a go.
  2. Basketball goal – great for the active boy, but portable, so can be stored, moved, or taken into the middle of the cul-de-sac when the boys really want to get schooled by mommy.
  3. DSI XL Special Edition – yes, another one.  And it haasss to be the red one, its for the 25th anniversary of the nintendo Gameboy/DS console.  I think we can all remember what fun these were no matter how old we were.
  4. iPod Touch – This was on Aus’ list, but not making the cut just yet.  We opted for the DSI XL for a little bit longer, but these are really really hot right now.
  5. BopIt Bounce – harder and possibly more annoying than the original BopIt.  Dreams really do come true!
  6. College Snuggie – Aus’ has really gotten into collegiate sports.  The name of the game around this house in the Texas Longhorns (even though their football is less than stellar right now).  Aus will not be a fair weather fan though and I think this is the perfect accessory for someone that devoted.
  7. NFL Jersey (Andre Johnson) – adding to the obsession with football players and sports in general.  This time the Houston Texans.  A jersey of a little boy’s fav team is a shoe-in for a gift.
  8. Original Adidas HiTop – Aus is very colorful inside and out and has had his eye on these.  I love their throw back to the 80’s feel and can hear my mom saying “What’s old is new” in my head.  So true.

It’s going to be one very merry Christmas around here!
