Chinese Laundry, Need I Say More?

I have always loved this brand for their quirky styles.  Booty lifters, flats, sandals, wedges.  They have it all and when I find a store that carries it they generally catch my eye.

I will also confess that my eyes were caught (hook line and sinker) when I found these stripper heels by Chinese Laundry babies at a garage sale this weekend for 3 dollars!  Wore them today and not only was I four inches taller, I was 4 more units of BADASS.

Heres some of picks from their latest line:

  1. Citrus
  2. Shantel
  3. Bobbi
  4. Malini
  5. Cool it
  6. Morocco
  7. Chat

Nothing can beat my 3.00 find at the garage sale; however, Chinese Laundry’s prices are very conservative–I am talking UNDER 50.00!  Woot Woot!

Things I Love Under $10.00

I think the title speaks volumes here, but there are some great deals and steals that should scooped up FAST. I mean, ruffles, springy color, and fun accessories… all under a 10 spot. Wow, now that’s what I call a bargain.

  1. Forever21, Ruffle Knit Top – I was gifted this at my birthday time and I LOVE it. Perfect under a bright cardi while its still chilly and perfect alone in the warmer weather.
  2. Old Navy, Jersey Tote– Perfect for carrying books, carrying groceries or carrying as a purse. Soft as a baby’s bottom and dirt cheap!
  3. Walmart, Olivia T Thong Sandals– Who doesn’t need a $10.00 girl pop of pink in the form of a sandal for a neutral spring outfit?!?
  4. Walmart, Island Thong Sandals– These shoes were made for walkin! I wear a pair of these faux crocs every year when we Tipsy girls spend all damned day long walking miles upon miles antique shopping in April. No blisters, no nothing… like walking on air.
  5. Forever21, Raw Turquoise Pendant– This necklace falls right in like with the jewelry trends for fall combining the “hottest color” and the mineral look for a very minimal price.
  6. Walmart, Norma Kamali Women’s Draped Jersey Tank – Beautiful draping that could work for officewear or a night on the town.. and UM $8!
  7. Forever21, Metal and Turquoise Wood Bracelet– This is a $6 statement all over your wrist. Style, style, style.
  8. Walmart, Sophia Patent Thong Sandals – Instead of your usually pop of red shoe… how about try sunshine yellow and for $10.00 it’s worth the risk!

$50 Fridays: Orange Ya Glad It’s Friday!

It’s been a long week over here on this end and man am I glad to see Friday and glad to see this beautiful bright shade of orange paired with some turquoise… a favorite color combo of the ladies of Tipsy Society. So happy and springy!

  2. Old Navy, Pom Pom Fringe Scarf
  3. Old Navy, Sweetheart Distressed Skinny Jeans
  4. Forever21, Norma Metal Tier Earrings

Work it Out

So me and my Tipsy Girl Court have been on a work out kick for the past 8 or 9 weeks. We joined our local YMCA and have been doing everything from spinning to boot camp, to basic cardio and weights. The main thing that we’ve taken away from our workouts is a) it’s nice to have a friend that keeps you honest and makes you go to workout, even when you don’t want to and b) the Y has given us an outlet for our ADD selves so we don’t get bored.

These are some of my workout basics:

  1. Nike, Shox Turbo: I’m a huge fan of this shoe. I got my first pair of shox two years ago and I think those need to be replaced with these awesome green ones!
  2. Academy, Soffe Cotton Rib Tank: These are $6.99, need I say more?
  3. Academy, BCG Razorback Bra: Just to keep the girls in line.
  4. Academy, Nike Field Pants: I typically do NOT work out in pants because I don’t like to sweat and I feel like they always make me sweat more (I know, I know, I’m weird). These are great (only if I have to) workout pants because they are not tight (I’m a bit booty girl and those cute yoga tights do nothing for me).
  5. Academy, Nike Tempo Shorts: You know that embarrassing sweaty ass mark, aka SWASS, (I’m just being honest) you get when you’re really working hard? These shorts DO NOT show that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🙂
  6. Academy, Nike Dri-Fit T-shirt: Similar to the shorts, this shirt doesn’t show sweat marks so people can go on believing that us girls don’t sweat like pigs…OH, and this shirt keeps you nice and toasty when the weather is less than optimal outside.

But It’s Just A Pair Of Shoes?!

So generally this is what happens with me…I’m surfing the interwebs and find a pair of shoes I like.  I open them up to view all angles and what not and I’m like yep, those are good, those are really cute, those are actually super cute…yeah I’m gonna go ahead and get those.  Close that window, pick my size, look at the price and then FAINT.  I mean wow, what did they have to do to make those shoes that they would be THAT expensive?  And it’s like they aren’t even like oh those are just a little overpriced, it’s like WOW those are like $200+ half the time.

So these are some of the shoes I’ve seen recently where I’ve just about fallen out of my chair.  The only pair under $100 are the black sandals, but it’s kinda like um wow don’t I have some black sandals? Do I need to spend $70 something on a pair of black sandals?  So anyway, please enjoy…I’ll be right here finding some more unattainable shoes.

Give Me a Wedge(e)!

Get it?   HAHAHA.  I’m pretty lame.

So,  I’ve figured out that due to various situations I am not longer eligible for stilettos or 4 inch heels.  I have outlined these below:

  • WAS- weak ankle syndrome
  • achy feet
  • getting too damned old
  • not wanting to feel like too much of a stripper
  • the high likelihood that if I have consumed any alcohol at all–I could end up DFO (done fell out aka, on the ground)

The solution?  Easy, a wedge or platform.  I am completely in love.  The elegance for the dressier times, the comfort I need.  Here’s a few I have my eyes on.

  1. Michael Antonio Green Wedge
  2. Rampage Wedge with Turquoise
  3. Jessica Simpson Orange Wedge
  4. BCBG Crimson Platform
  5. Xhiliration Olive Wedge

On another note, all of these seem to have a pretty good price tag!
