Easter Bunny is Coming to Town

So, Easter is always a neat time of the year.  Church, hidden plastic eggs filled with money, and family.  That all makes sense right?

Seriously though, I love scoping out goodies for my son, Austin’s, basket.  Check it out (rated: 7-year-old boy).

  1. Pocket Bunny– handmade and adorable.  Love it.
  2. Bunny Crayons – I love seeing something as simple as crayons in a shape like a bunny to celebrate the day.
  3. Soccer Easter Basket – for my little future Pelé.
  4. Travel Battelship – these types of things are great for going on trips, around the house with out the clutter and just to have when he spends the night at a friends.  Austin has really gotten into Risk lately.  Anyone seen an updated or travel version of Risk?
  5. Peeps – ‘nough said.
  6. Venus Fly Trap Kit – has anyone been watching the new series on the Discovery Channel, Life?  Well, its great, Aus and I really love watching it together and it makes it totally rational to give my son a Venus Fly Trap for Easter.
  7. Indoor Boomerang – I always kick myself in the ass for toys like this.  But, an indoor boomerang?  Pretty sure we need to test it just to make sure it WON’T break things.
  8. Giant LED Flashlight – Aus has a million flashlights, but the LED and the size makes this one even cooler.

Dear Husband…

If you decide to treat me with something sweet this Valentines day, please remember I’m not a huge lover of sweets and only have a select few faves!

  1. Candy Apples: Granted, I’m not a fan of the apples, but LOVE eating the good stuff off of them!

  4. Cherry Sours: Sour and sweet is a great combo!
  5. Twizzlers Pull n’ Peel: Please don’t judge…
  6. Reeses Peanut Butter Heart: I’ll take the giant one please.

Tip Toe Through The Tulips (or Roses or Daisies or…)

While in college I worked for a florist and basically had the gopher type of job…I could make arrangements, corsages, funeral sprays, answer the phone, make deliveries, pick up lunch for the whole gang…like I said pretty much anything…  It wasn’t a BAD job, I mean the floral knowledge I obtained was phenomenal, however as with any retail job you start hating holidays and let me tell you I abhorred Valentine’s Day.  This basically meant 72 hours straight of wearing layer after layer of sweatshirts/sweatpants so we wouldn’t have to have the flowers in the cooler but rather sitting anywhere in the shop along with standing in knee deep stripped rose leaves and thorns and arranging the same damn dozen long stem roses arrangement.  If I never see another LONG STEM ROSE ARRANGEMENT it will be too soon–let’s just call that Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome from having worked there.  So I’m more keen on short roundy moundy arrangements.  I’ll give you one exception to the long stem aversion: orchids.  Hope everyone has a Happy Valentine’s Day this weekend!  And if you love long stem roses, I hope I didn’t offend you…it’s not you, it’s me.

Dare I say it?? I’m not a chocolate loving girl. Fine. It’s out in the open. Judge if you wish. BUT, that doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy sugary treats on Valentine’s Day!  Here are some non-chocolate options for those girls who dare to live on the wild side.

  1. Sweettart’s, Gummy Hearts
  2. Sour Peachy Hearts
  3. Jelly Belly, Sour Petite Hearts
  4. Mike and Ike’s, Valentine’s Medley
  5. Jelly Belly, Conversation Beans

Got married and bought a house. 2009 was a money pit.

Santa Was Very Good To Me

So we know that my son is spoiled as hell, so let’s talk about Mommy.  I must have been very good this year, or my boyfriend Ben and my Mom, Mimi really know me well! Here’s a few of my favs from my stash.

cr-presents procured

  1. Cat house from Ikea.  This goes great with my decor.  It’s acting as a piece of abstract art at the moment, but I am devising plans to make my cats go kookoo for this new condo.
  2. Yurakoro Lucky Cat.  I’ll admit,  I’m a small child when it comes to gifts like these.  Of all the things I received this year, I have to say this is my favorite.  What makes this little gadget even better is when you rock it, the kitty mews just like my Siamese, which makes me laugh everytime.
  3. World Market Floor Lamp.  This was on my Tipsy Christmas list and I think Santa surely read it!  This things is gargantuan.  I am working on finding the perfect place for this in my crib, but am surely in love.
  4. Bissell Pet Vacuum. Comes fully equipped with the chamber that you can view all the nastiness that you suck in.  Hellz yes.
