Pretty Things at Every Price: Hobos

Our first PTAEP was on crossbodies and then we did clutches, both of which are definitely Court’s go-to size of a bag.  The rest of us on the other hand need a hobo or bigger in some cases.  So here’s our take on the hobo bag at a price you can afford!!

  1. Der’s ($12.97) Vinyl Ruffle Handbag– Y’all know how I feel about a ruffle. This is a definitely right up my alley.
  2. Court’s ($24.50) Faux Leather Zip Hobo-Think that it could be a goto bag for any outfit.  I will tell you though, I am completely out of my realm with these HUGE ASS bags!
  3. AK’s ($32.90) Blue Hobo with Studs-LOVE LOVE LOVE this color.  It’s always great to find a colorful bag for a good price.
  4. Sarah’s ($49.99) Nine West Cayla Hobo-I, for one, think you can never have too many white bags. I’ve actually seen this one in person and it’s one of those perfect whites that will last you through early fall!

I’m Tanked Over Here

We are seeing record setting temps in these parts and that means I’m wearing as little clothing as possible without breaking any laws. I’m also rethinking this whole pregnant during the summer thing… I don’t think I’ll be making this a repeat situation. Anywho, I thought I’d show off these babies because they are a standard uniform over here in long torso-prego ville.

Old Navy, Women’s Racerback V-Neck Tanks – These are LONG, like super long. They fit over the bulging bump when some maternity tanks look like mid-riffs.  Also, they are thin but not see through.. letting the air in, but keeping those preg pervs out… yes, I’m talking to you creep at Home Depot.

If Wrinkled is Wrong, I Don’t Wanna Be Right

You got me… I’m a linen lover. You can find me deeply wrinkled and oh so comfy all summer long. Small price to pay, I say.

Skies Ain’t So Gray

Are you always wearing boring black? Why not move on down a shade and pull on some gray. Sure, the idea seems gloomy, but no ma’am. I happen to LOVE gray. I love it so much that I painted my walls in my house gray- every room a different shade. It’s such a great canvas to pop color against and it’s a pretty great neutral all by itself.  BTW, do you say gray or grey? That always throws me for a loop.

The Topic of T-Shirts

Is anybody out there like me and on the hunt for the perfect t-shirt?  I need a t-shirt to not be so thin that all my lumps and bumps show, to hit at just the right place in length and to not be tooo cap-sleevey, not too clingy but not too loose.  And what the hell with brown t-shirts getting all decolorized swirly when you wash them?  Is it so hard to buy a t-shirt and want to throw it in the washing machine and dry it and have it come out the same color it was before? You feel me?  I’ve bought tees from all these places and while I do end up wearing them, I haven’t found THE. BEST. T-SHIRT. EVER.  Have you?

John Deer Green

I like green, it’s probably is my second favorite color. Kelly green is so simple and original… it’s the color of grass. It looks great as an accent. AK carries a fabuloso green handbag and it pretty much looks the bomb with everything. I like wearing it with crisp white and accented with navy or cobalt blue. Here’s a sampling of some greeness that’s pretty much to die for.

Sweat Pants Alternative

I used to watch Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style every week until they ripped it from me like a thief in the night. Tim preached that every woman needed a sweat pants alternative. Something that feels like your PJs , but something that would be ok to be seen in at the grocery store.  I’ve been looking for a sweat pants alternative lately and I’ve found some very intriguing and non-sweat pantsy options.  What’s your sweat pants alternative?

Purple People Eater

I have never really been a pink type of girl. I like pink, but I don’t LOVE pink. When I was little, my favorite color was purple. I wanted purple everything. My first car was even purple (no idea what I was thinking) So, purple is still near and dear to my heart. Purple looks great accented with oranges or greens and my personal fav turquoise!
